Are these guys for real…
Yes
Bonkers lmao, Holm and Castillo were awesome tonight but all the others need to show up
Yup
🔥🔥🔥
65 km walk??? It will take at least a full day. I've walked 20 km in like 8-10 hours last year, when I didn't want to pay for bus and wanted to have a long walk.
I'm 7-6 right now with Elks losing to Lions.
PS. Guys, what are your thoughts about Chirs Jones? Should Elks fire him after another loss? 17 days until next game, they have a chance to name a new head coach (and who can be that head coach?) and he would have time to prepare some new schemes.
Blue Bombers is the dynasty for the fact that they won West Division 4 times in a row. That's impressive.
Keric Wheetfall was also put in the 6 game injury list. Poor Blue Bombers...
BTW. Why Argos starts with THREE home games in a row?
I also picked Alouettes, Stampeders and Redblacks.
Okay... I'm becoming more and more frustrated with Elks... what should they do to finally win a game? Once again they were close... I picked Elks to win and they had a chance but once again found the way to lose the game. And Elks were able to stop Lions, not a lot was done by VA and the company. Just one passing TD to Stanback and David Mackie scored a TD as the "short-yardage QB". Finally Lions found the way to not risk VA. PS. Mayala missed the game, btw.
I’m picking BC,MTL,WPG,OTT
Schoen is out for the year, pick up a free agent like whitehead or darvin adams?
I can’t believe whitehead still isn’t signed yet
Darvin Adams didn't play last season, so I think that he's retired even if he didn't officially announce that yet. Whitehead... yeah, that's weird, he can do good things for Blue Bombers.
That hit... Marcus Sayles was knocked out... Hit got with the knee to the side the neck.
Ouch
Yeah, I agree that there was no reason for Trevor Harris to come back. Riders had the full control of the game.
Yup
Harris throwing 177 yards was because he only played 2 quarters, he was injured (his left knee was hyperextended). Shea Patterson played the entire 2nd half.
Yup
Thurman had a TD on an Interception... come on guys. Sayles didn't even had an interception, he had a tipped ball for an interception for Fields.
Can’t remember every detail from each game, in general gotta try to cover all 4 games and whatnot. Got notes but sometimes we make a small error on the name it happens, kinda just the nature of doin coverage
@@CanadianFootballCentral it's okay. Just correcting you on the mistake.
That interception from Purifoy happened after a trick play from Argos, Deonta McMahon tried to pass the ball, but Purifoy was able to intercept the pass.
Ah
Janarion Grant was banged at some point of the game and was checked on in the tent, but was able to come back.
Good to see he was able to return
If not for Joel Dublanko contacting a punter on a punt with 2 minutes left in the 4th.. Elks could've had a better chance to win. Argos punted a few plays later and were able to pin Elks to their 5 yard line and Edmonton didn't do much in that situation and punted the ball to Argos 48 yard line and Grant was able to return the ball to Elks 45 yard line and with some running plays Argos were able to score a 37 yard walk-off field goal.
Ah
Elks at Argos... FUCK CFL+. I missed the game and wanted to watch it after the fact... but CFL+ screwed the recording COMPLETELY, it starts in the middle of the 2nd quarter. Thank god I was able to quickly find a CBS recording of the game.
Oh damn
@@CanadianFootballCentral heard that it might be because of the CFL site going down at some point during the game...
BTW. Lions cut Travis Fulgham. He was not good, he was doing the wrong routes and all that stuff.
Ya that just came out the other day I saw that
And Streveler scored all three Blue Bombers TDs in the game against Lions... he's having 4 Rushing TDs. More that anyone else in CFL after week 3.
He’s been one of the only consistent parts of the bombers
@@CanadianFootballCentral for sure.
I agree... Streveler and Collaros as the double-headed monster can be interesting.
Absolutely
Yes, there was a play with Collaros as wide receiver and Streveler as QB, I remember that.
I know there was also one with Collaros at QB and streveler getting a throw. An interesting Buck Pierce strategy for sure
@@CanadianFootballCentral Yeah. Streveler couldn't catch that ball, but it was an interesting play call.
PS. Dalton Schoen and Keric Wheatfall will be put in the 6 game injury list... like what the hell?
WPG can’t stay healthy at all, that’s a rlly tough loss
Worst start since 2012 (that time it was 0-4 start), two home losses in a row for the first time since 2018 (since 2019 Winnipeg didn't lost more than one home game in the season).
Yikes not the kind of flashbacks ur wanting
@@CanadianFootballCentral Every great team will face an end...
@@teo_heelyep…
Yeah, I forgot that Lions didn't score on the last possession, they specifically stopped 1 yard short of the goal line and killed the time.
Yup, just an important thing as many kept talking like 1 field goal would’ve won the bombers the game but in reality it didn’t matter
@@CanadianFootballCentral For sure. If Blue Bombers would've scored on that field goal, 2nd half would've been COMPLETELY different as the strategy would've been different.
@@teo_heelabsolutely
I don't know why commentators didn't mentioned that Reggie White Jr was injured in the Als home game against Ottawa Redblacks on October 10, 2022 and he came back to play against them in the Als home game and scored 2 TDs. That's incredible story... CFL can't be that bad at promoting stories, do they?
I mean it wouldn’t shock me, CFL as a whole needs to up it’s promotion as league wide attendance is so much further down then 20 years ago. Like there’s so much more they could be doing
@@CanadianFootballCentral yeah... I saw a video by TheTouchback and CoachPhilReacts when they talked about CFL hesitating in terms of promoting the game...
I was 50% with my predictions. Lions and Roughriders won, Argos barely escaped with the win against my pick Elks, Montreal Alouettes completely destroyed Redblacks (that was very hard to watch).
I was 50% as well. I’m 6-6 so far this season on my predictions
@@CanadianFootballCentral I'm 7-5 so far.
nice cap buddy go als go
Not an Als fan but we do league wide content so gotta cover all bases
Hot take the riders are the worst of the undefeated teams
Disagreed. Defense was great in the home opener. They scored a TD after inteception, like come on...
@@teo_heel it’s very arguable to say they’re better than Toronto but the amount of penalties they’ve taken is why I say Toronto is a little better and Montreal is by far the best team in the league as of right now
@@MrYeet-pn8wg Yeah... you got a good point with penalties. But Saskatchewan was good against Tiger-Cats, not too many penalties were against Riders (8 for 78 yards).
That certainly is a take, interesting
I saw a lot of positives this week from the bombers but a lot of negatives as well firstly why not take the points at the end of the half there and these injuries are really starting to get out of hand
They wanted to but made mistakes in managing the clock
1/3 of the league is winless and another 1/3 is undefeated kinda weird right?
With 9 teams... perfect. Makes sense after 3 weeks.
Never would’ve guess Winnipeg was one of those teams
Yuppers
@@CanadianFootballCentral Yeah... Blue Bombers can't catch a break with injuries... they might not make playoffs if they would lose players every week.
My predictions are: Redblacks, Lions, Elks and Roughriders.
So basically the exact opposite of all mine haha
@@CanadianFootballCentral Basically it is.
@@teo_heelYuppers
@@CanadianFootballCentral So at least one of us will get this right. :D
@@teo_heelor neither and we both go 50% lol
Believe in who? That TNA jobber who appeared in NXT for some weird reason?
I mean u say jobber but he’s the most over guy in wrestling currently. Most views on a wrestling video since mania 40 and 7 million views in 24 hours for WWE. 90K likes. NXT and TNA are working together and it’s bolstered both shows numbers. And like his ring work is good but more importantly his character work has been great. No doubt that as of rn financially he’s a draw. People believe in Joe Hendry
@@CanadianFootballCentral I don't get it... but it's me, I'm not into pro wrestling as much.
@@teo_heelthat’s fair. Tbh it’s just a fun meme more than anything. The fact that he wrote a ridiculous theme song and it surpassed Taylor Swift and was #1 song in the UK for a bit is just hilarious and the fans love it
@@CanadianFootballCentral Taylor Who? That girl who was seen with Zach Collaros? Yeah, Zach made that girl famous for sure. :D
@@teo_heel Swifties < Collaros Bros
No, VA had a receiving TD in 2019 on a flea flicker with Geno Lewis passing to Adams Jr. kzread.info/dash/bejne/oYOjmq-rdau9e5c.html
Ahhh
34:4 since 2019 at home for Blue Bombers. 40:7 since 2018.
That was the number, thank you!
Strong game for Marcus Sayles? Yeah, statistically he was good, but twice left a player open and Hamilton scored 2 TDs because of that. Dunbar Jr was open and scored a TD because Sayles lost him completely, Bridges was open and scored a TD because Sayles lost him.
Hm
27 - 7? Are you sure about that? 20-7 was a thing. Then 20-17 when Reavis should've had a fumble recovery that was called off due to him not wearing a helmet when he touched the ball.
I’d have to go back and check
I just can't understand what happened to Tiger-Cats in the end.
Just fell apart real quick and Saskatchewan didn’t give em an inch
And you forgot that Sean Whyte was blocked TWICE on his conversions.
Forgot to mention that, lots to chat about! We did stream tho so somewhere in there is our reactions to that
No, VA had receiving yards in 2019, when he played a trick play with Eugene Lewis in Montreal that ended with him gaining 21 yards and scoring a TD. kzread.info/dash/bejne/oYOjmq-rdau9e5c.html A he had a catch in 2022 for BC of -3 yards. It was his 3rd catch.
Ahhhhh, gotta admit tho the pass to himself was quite a funny play
I won't say that Maier was better than VA.
I don’t believe I said that. However Maier did have a good game. VA is a better QB in general tho
Yeah, it seemed that BC Place was full the whole game. At least 50000 people.
Absolutely incredible!
@@CanadianFootballCentral for sure. It shows that people can be interested in a game after seeing a big musician.
@@teo_heelabsolutely!
I was glad that Ottawa won, I predicted them to win East Division. They have all the tools.
They absolutely do! However my concern is that time and time again they have struggled to put them together. If they can figure that out there’s no reason they can’t be a force out east
BC Lions won Grey Cup in 2011 after starting 0-5.
True!
Chris Smith is in the practice roster? He needs to play. Mitchell is not good on returns, Smith was WAY better.
Agreed, good news is it appears he’s in the depth chart at returner for WPG in this next game
@@CanadianFootballCentral AWESOME.
@@teo_heelhell yeah!
And the weather rule is very good for player's safety. It's all about player safety.
Yes and no. I have never and will never say players should play through lightning. Absolutely not. Safety comes first. My issue was more in what the considered outcome of a game would be. There r many ways u could do things. Whether that’s having a longer then 1 hour delay, or possibly pulling a baseball and finishing that game before the start of the next one if they have another game? I’m not sure on the exact solution but the current rule absolutely has issues that can hopefully be remedied with some tweaking
@@CanadianFootballCentral to be honest, I see nothing against just ending the game as it is if more than 2 and a half quarters were played. For Playoffs it won't work.
@@teo_heel it depends. My issue is that one of the biggest branding points of the league is the “no lead is safe” modo. If a rule directly undermines that it’s hypocritical on the leagues part. So I’m open to new ideas on how to amend this rule and improve it to ensure shitty situations don’t happen. Thankfully this game did continue this past week. Ottawa won fair and square and nobody got screwed outta anything. All in all I believe that’s the goal, finishing that game with the safety of the players at the forefront
@@CanadianFootballCentral You know... maybe just build domed stadiums? That would eliminate that rule. Why Vancouver is the only place in CFL that has a domed stadium? Toronto and Montreal used to have them, but not anymore, Big O is not used at all. Rogers Centre is now baseball-only venue.
@@teo_heel I mean in an ideal world yes but unfortunately at this point in time that’s not possible. However I will say I do pray the CFL can grow to a point where that becomes more viable. What BC has been doing in marketing its team and getting ppl to the games is brilliant and so other struggling markets like Toronto need to take notice and adjust their business model to bring in the young fans as this leagues fanbase is aging
