If the union of the first plate had failed, I would have measured it, I would have cut five centimeters along the plate, welded seven centimeters of a material similar in thickness and consistency along the plate and then I would have joined it back to the hull, I mark the excess, I cut the excess and then I take the plate and weld it directly to the rest of the hull and I solve the problem without having resorted to Bruce Roberts, and it is because companies sometimes sell high quality kits with small assembly details that can be solved without much difficulty, if the plate had come completely deformed then it would be necessary to make the kit company notice the failure and demand the corresponding plate, but delay the assembly of the boat for weeks waiting changing a piece due to the lack of material that is just two or three centimeters wide in less than 50 centimeters long is not a good idea, the second plate came just as defective, so it is not worth the wait or the hassle, I I would have settled for it and I would have fixed the problem without difficulty in an afternoon, logically I would have made Bruce Roberts see that they put more care in that exact part so that they could improve their service but I don't see that it is something so terrible or so difficult to solve, of course In fact, it has a fairly simple solution, is it my opinion or is it what I would have done, whatever the work that you have done on your kit is great and I watched all the videos with great attention, I congratulate you for your work, greetings

Nice build. I'm knee deep in the exact same build (in my garage) i LOVE your finished look. Im curious do you have any tips on how you fit the strakes? Or any i fo on the other bitd you put in. Like a bilch and electrical?
@SailingHunkofJunk7 ай бұрын
Hi, only just seen your comment, I cut a taper on the strakes first, and then spent a while measuring and marking the location. I did the outer two first. I used short sections of 2" alu pipe tacked to the hull plates and a strong hand tools half clamp to "lift" any low spots up to meet the strakes. I added in a manual bilge pump after the sea trials, and am currently in the process of lowering the transom notch to lower the engine mounting height as well. Aside from that I've added in a little bracket for rod holders and am going to put hand rails and cleats on the boat. Oh and a mount for a seat, and am thinking of turning the middle seat into some watertight storage. Hopefully we'll make a vid about it all at some point soon.

@SailingHunkofJunk great thank you. I guess im on the right track because i had the same plan. Did you not put expanding foam in the seats? The build guide suggested to do so. I'm looking forward to dropping mine in the water. It's an awesome little boat.
