Tunic's first playthrough is the type of experience you only get once. I hope you stick with it. The game is incredible. Leaving a play session with "more questions than answers" is par for the course for most of the game.

I really did not enjoy this game. The selling point for me originally was that you’re supposed to decipher the manual but I got to a point where I had a ton of pages, nowhere to go, and nothing had been deciphered. I checked, double checked, and triple checked every single part of the map. Nothing. I’m sure something in the manual would’ve helped me but it was all gibberish

I definitly love the demo but it feels like theres some game design issues, especailly with having a track that is ALL straight and a car whose gimick is higher top speed and speed retention in the roster. It feels like some tracks are built without respect to the idea that every car should be viable on it, those that specialize should have sections they excel with and others they struggle with on 1 track. The high top speed cars became the ez button again, the 2D F-zero games helped this by making speed retention much higher across the board, if you earned your speed using techniques you could keep it far longer. Fzero GX kinda failed this since accel-based cars are just not viable

@@NOFRILLS_GAMING what is cool is that theres potential for it to work though The flying-based cars obv require ways to get airbourne and some tracks just dont allow it, but theres an insane recording of someone on the pipe track intentionally launching themselves off for drill-dives. In-game its a bit random and too risky to do consistently, but some attention could tweak the rules and make it more consistent (prefering to launch cars up instead of anywhere else) It allows cars that prefer being airborne to get airborne without a jump and other cars that dont accel in that can just stay on the road and take a straighter path. The fire map is also insanely well designed, jumping with fire is optional and creates new risk/reward with the burn mechanic.

I beat this game last night. I got it on sale on Nintendo EShop for $4.85. Honestly, it's a good game. Disappointing ending though. Not just because the pre-final boss fight with Odd was actually harder than the final boss fight with the Queen because Odd kept disappearing making sneaking up on her impossible combined with her speed and teleportation powers, but the end cutscene was so anticlimactic. We rescue Odd, expect to be shown how Even and Odd get home, but all we get is Dicey handing the kids some umbrellas as they float off into the white sky. I mean, there was so much else I wanted to see! I wanted to see the citizens of Random celebrate that now they are free from literal random tyranny. I wanted to see them reconstruct their towns to a lighter disposition. It would've worked in the end credits perfectly. We're shown town after town starting from Two-Town and going up as newer brighter buildings are put up, there are parties of celebration, we see Seemore getting new eyes, the Nanny getting ganged up on and arrested, and all kinds of wrongs being corrected after years of dark oppression as they all return to their lives before the Queen's antics. Then finally, we're taken back to Onecroft where the rescued children return to their families and the town's importance to supplying the other realms with valuable supplies is finally recognized as their town gets appreciations and makeovers. Lastly we see Even and Odd return to their parents with a new member to the family as a post-credits scene....as suddenly Dicey glows all of a sudden as his body splits in half anf changes from a cube to two perfect triangle pyramids with the numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 on the corners of their bodies as he has for some reason been turned into two d4 dice which sets up a potential sequel. But it doesn't happen. We get nothing in the end credits except words scrolling up, there's no post-credit scene, no setup for a potential sequel, nothing.

It was more easier to play then GX in my opinion. I will try this title when it fully completed and it is on sale.

F-Zero fans are finally eating so well this week. Also that point of newcomers is right: I've been seeing a lot of people (especially those that weren't that proficient in other F-Zero titles having a blast. It's surprising how fast many of them are getting the hang of Aero GPX as well). The Quality of Life features and Accessibility is practically unrivaled so far. Even the Practice Mode takes cues from Fighting Games, where you can save and load states on a practice run. Plain and simple, this is a game that's put together very well and isn't just "F-Zero but newer." It really does add a lot to the Antigravity Racer scene.

Seeing as I decided to watch this video here's a critique as somebody that actually does art and media outside of KZread - studied it. Clean up your script a bit. Any narrative that you're doing has a beginning, middle, and end, and you have that but it isn't clear as it feels like everything runs into each other like one giant paragraph and here's what I mean. In your intro around the minute mark you segued a transition into the topic just to then do more of an intro with your commentary on publishers and not knowing what to expect. The portion from 1:00 - 2:00 has a lot of fluff and could've been shortened around 30 seconds. It's okay as a first rough draft, but what you want to do after that is revise to tighten it up especially when doing short form media as the space your using is very condensed and you want to get as much relevant information in as can, as cleanly as possible, or basically you want a clean execution. Which doesn't happen here even when you move on to actually talking about the game as it feels like a continuation of the previous sentence. "Expectation is the road to disappointment," is where your breaking point should've been as from the looks of it that was where you attempted to transition into talking about the game. And you can do that by having a longer pause; as well as any additional methods of transition like a title sequence, and/or a strong sentence that allows the audience to follow along. An example would be like, "...and expectation is the road to disappointment! [BREAK] Redfall isn't a good game. Even though I try not to have expectations Arkane is a developer that I'm found of...," something like that even though that's just an example. Ultimately how you do is going to be unique to you but that example is cleaner. And sticking with that, when you're giving your opinion on talking about something you want to stay away from basic phrases, "I like," and, "I don't like," as they don't convey any information other than your personal like or dislike. That's cool... but why?! Why do you like or dislike the topic you're speaking on at that moment. You want to expand with nuance so your perspective can be understood which will also allow your overall review be more consistent as you found your sweet spot mid way through the 3-minute mark, but it's hampered by the portion before being so short, apportion being after what would be your intro that is. The overall body portion (or midpoint) definitely needed to be longer as it would've helped in the beginning part of it.

Most Wanted has a terrible campaign but is an absolute favorite when you focus on the challenge mode. My guess is it's a similar case with this title where they just poop out the story. Honestly, UNBOUND just seems like a worse version of the classics.

Yeah kinda gave up on singleplayer but multiplayer is way better. There is longer races, good cash rewards and the new drag and drift events are really fun. Also, You can turn the cartoon effects off if you go all the way up to the top of the different cartoon effects I think it’s called “original smoke” or something. May only be multiplayer.

I actually like the game, but i have 3 gripes with game. 1) The story at times gets really cringe at times 2) The Soundtrack: I want to ask who picked the songs i mean some of the are just staright up weird or annoying like "we want some money", but there are some great songs like some of A$AP Rocky's songs, tappat de helt, punya pap and etc. so i play the game with spotify playing in the backround 3) The crash physics: Like what does it mean when i lightly smack the back of the car into a wall at low speed and start doing million barrel rolls in the air versus slaming it really high speed into someone and nothing happens. The crash physics sometimes are straight up non sense and dont get me started on the crash cams.

Absolutely agree. The toon shaders were actually really well done, I just think they break the overall look of the game, bit of an identity crisis there but nothing major. I agree. The single-player of this game is absolute garbage. They are working on the multiplayer and they have added some good new modes especially the current update. Although it needs some improvement, its nice that Criterion hasn't abandoned this game completely

I beat this game last night. I got it on sale on Nintendo EShop for $4.85. Honestly, it's a good game. Disappointing ending though. Not just because the pre-final boss fight with Odd was actually harder than the final boss fight with the Queen because Odd kept disappearing making sneaking up on her impossible combined with her speed and teleportation powers, but the end cutscene was so anticlimactic. We rescue Odd, expect to be shown how Even and Odd get home, but all we get is Dicey handing the kids some umbrellas as they float off into the white sky. I mean, there was so much else I wanted to see! I wanted to see the citizens of Random celebrate that now they are free from literal random tyranny. I wanted to see them reconstruct their towns to a lighter disposition. It would've worked in the end credits perfectly. We're shown town after town starting from Two-Town and going up as newer brighter buildings are put up, there are parties of celebration, we see Seemore getting new eyes, the Nanny getting ganged up on and arrested, and all kinds of wrongs being corrected after years of dark oppression as they all return to their lives before the Queen's antics. Then finally, we're taken back to Onecroft where the rescued children return to their families and the town's importance to supplying the other realms with valuable supplies is finally recognized as their town gets appreciations and makeovers. Lastly we see Even and Odd return to their parents with a new member to the family as a post-credits scene....as suddenly Dicey glows all of a sudden as his body splits in half anf changes from a cube to two perfect triangle pyramids with the numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 on the corners of their bodies as he has for some reason been turned into two d4 dice which sets up a potential sequel. But it doesn't happen. We get nothing in the end credits except words scrolling up, there's no post-credit scene, no setup for a potential sequel, nothing.
Finally some innovation in this genre. Wondering when game defining features will start popping up. F zero had always a good model for a roguelike.
Oh I would play the hell out of that! Good idea!

@@NOFRILLS_GAMING no but I am looking forward to trying it as I played that other F-Zero title call fast racing XL or whatever it is call that was scheduled for Wii U but was later made into PC. It was more easier to play then GX in my opinion. I will try this title when it fully completed and it is on sale.

F-Zero fans are finally eating so well this week. Also that point of newcomers is right: I've been seeing a lot of people (especially those that weren't that proficient in other F-Zero titles having a blast. It's surprising how fast many of them are getting the hang of Aero GPX as well). The Quality of Life features and Accessibility is practically unrivaled so far. Even the Practice Mode takes cues from Fighting Games, where you can save and load states on a practice run. Plain and simple, this is a game that's put together very well and isn't just "F-Zero but newer." It really does add a lot to the Antigravity Racer scene.
Yes! Super refreshing, it's far better than I expected for sure. I went to back the Kickstarter (I'd love a time trial ghost) but it was full, I'm not surprised! Thanks for checking it out, and great point on QOL!

Seeing as I decided to watch this video here's a critique as somebody that actually does art and media outside of KZread - studied it. Clean up your script a bit. Any narrative that you're doing has a beginning, middle, and end, and you have that but it isn't clear as it feels like everything runs into each other like one giant paragraph and here's what I mean. In your intro around the minute mark you segued a transition into the topic just to then do more of an intro with your commentary on publishers and not knowing what to expect. The portion from 1:00 - 2:00 has a lot of fluff and could've been shortened around 30 seconds. It's okay as a first rough draft, but what you want to do after that is revise to tighten it up especially when doing short form media as the space your using is very condensed and you want to get as much relevant information in as can, as cleanly as possible, or basically you want a clean execution. Which doesn't happen here even when you move on to actually talking about the game as it feels like a continuation of the previous sentence. "Expectation is the road to disappointment," is where your breaking point should've been as from the looks of it that was where you attempted to transition into talking about the game. And you can do that by having a longer pause; as well as any additional methods of transition like a title sequence, and/or a strong sentence that allows the audience to follow along. An example would be like, "...and expectation is the road to disappointment! [BREAK] Redfall isn't a good game. Even though I try not to have expectations Arkane is a developer that I'm found of...," something like that even though that's just an example. Ultimately how you do is going to be unique to you but that example is cleaner. And sticking with that, when you're giving your opinion on talking about something you want to stay away from basic phrases, "I like," and, "I don't like," as they don't convey any information other than your personal like or dislike. That's cool... but why?! Why do you like or dislike the topic you're speaking on at that moment. You want to expand with nuance so your perspective can be understood which will also allow your overall review be more consistent as you found your sweet spot mid way through the 3-minute mark, but it's hampered by the portion before being so short, apportion being after what would be your intro that is. The overall body portion (or midpoint) definitely needed to be longer as it would've helped in the beginning part of it.

Most Wanted has a terrible campaign but is an absolute favorite when you focus on the challenge mode. My guess is it's a similar case with this title where they just poop out the story. Honestly, UNBOUND just seems like a worse version of the classics.

Yeah kinda gave up on singleplayer but multiplayer is way better. There is longer races, good cash rewards and the new drag and drift events are really fun. Also, You can turn the cartoon effects off if you go all the way up to the top of the different cartoon effects I think it’s called “original smoke” or something. May only be multiplayer.

I actually like the game, but i have 3 gripes with game. 1) The story at times gets really cringe at times 2) The Soundtrack: I want to ask who picked the songs i mean some of the are just staright up weird or annoying like "we want some money", but there are some great songs like some of A$AP Rocky's songs, tappat de helt, punya pap and etc. so i play the game with spotify playing in the backround 3) The crash physics: Like what does it mean when i lightly smack the back of the car into a wall at low speed and start doing million barrel rolls in the air versus slaming it really high speed into someone and nothing happens. The crash physics sometimes are straight up non sense and dont get me started on the crash cams.
Absolutely agree. The toon shaders were actually really well done, I just think they break the overall look of the game, bit of an identity crisis there but nothing major. I actually spent more time driving around crashing than anything else, the races seemed short. Cool jumps though! Thanks for the input! Great point on the music! I appreciate you!
I agree. The single-player of this game is absolute garbage. They are working on the multiplayer and they have added some good new modes especially the current update. Although it needs some improvement, its nice that Criterion hasn't abandoned this game completely

I loved it, and I would love a longer game as well, but as you said - I took the first game into consideration. I actually had only played the first a week or so before, maybe a bit longer I don't remember the date lol.
