hello when I try to make the heart the shape builder tool selects the whole square. How do I fix this?
@BrightBrushAcademy6 ай бұрын
Hi! Make sure the round shapes and square shape are touching, and select all shapes before using the 'shape builder tool.' If it doesn't work, double-click the tool in the toolbar and check both highlight options in the shape builder tool settings. Good luck, and please reply if it works.

Hi Bailey, can you do a video on uploading a pattern to Illustrator and then transforming it (i.e. spacing, changing color, etc...)?
@BrightBrushAcademy9 ай бұрын
Hi Shawn, excellent question! To use the pattern options in illustrator you should start with a pattern that was originally created within Illustrator. To change the colors of anything in Illustrator, you can follow the method I demonstrate in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/polqma58g8TAm8o.htmlsi=N8bc11H_6Cv_xyUy&t=194, start at the 3:14 mark. I hope this helps.

I've watched a couple of your videos now! Absolutely one of (if not the) best tutorials I have seen! I do have so many questions though. I was using the cheetah swatch on a 12" x 12" art board. I got lines in the pattern. How do I fix that? Second question (part A)- I tried to make my own cheetah pattern but the edges won't match up so the pattern looks funky. What do I need to do? (Part B)- When making swatches what size area should you do it in? My Cheetah pattern I used a 6" x 6 ". I am really looking forward to more tutorials from you! Thank you for taking the time to do these!
@BrightBrushAcademy Жыл бұрын
Karen, your feedback warms my heart ❤️ and I appreciate your thoughtful questions. Regarding the lines in the cheetah swatch, it’s possibly a display error. Try printing it, or exporting it to a JPG or PNG using the "Art Optimized anti-aliasing" option, and your lines might disappear. When it comes to creating your own patterns, you can use the “Edit Pattern" options to refine the spacing. As for pattern size, you can explore different sizes and use the scaling option to enlarge or reduce the pattern to match your artistic vision. Thanks again for your enthusiasm, and stay tuned for more tutorials.
