I can see the story arc pretty clearly. He loves helping people but sometimes the job wears him down a little. He' has no time to be a person, to be "human." Just like Samaritan. Maybe this is why Engineer was chosen as the villain. The image of an engineer is one of someone working with their hands, like other blue collar workers, such as farmers. Yep, Superman is a guy who gets up and gets those boots on. Thanks for the video, btw.

Fed up?! Mentally healthy?! What! Yeah Superman is usually chipper but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t mean he hasn’t had mental problems before, in the comics he lost his father to a heart attack while stooping Brianiac, the animated series from the 90’s shows his feeling about being different from the people around him and wanting to be accepted, and in my adventures with Superman we see how this anime portrayal has a hard time dividing who to save after getting super hearing, point is just because someone is cheering and optimistic doesn’t mean they have problems and since Superman from what I’ve heard is a character close to James Gunns ❤️ I don’t think he’ll make him grumpy, maybe he’ll be close to his breaking point before snapping out of it but that’s it.

The Madeleine Pryor twist blindsided folks for some reason. The series has a legacy of never taking characters off-brand. So, the twist was sure coming. Just wonder why folks just thought Jean was going to be the mom of Cable.

I think people who find Superman's kindness unrelatable on unrealistic are really reporting on themselves. Superman is a counterpoint to assumptions. That's what makes him an interesting character. He's a counterpoint to "power corrupts". It does, if you chase it, but Superman didn't seek power. He found himself with power and saw nothing more logical to do with it than share it with the powerless, because that's how he was raised, by people who had perspective. Superman is not at risk of losing his power by sharing it, so why wouldn't he? It makes total sense. He's also a counterpoint to the assumption that aliens (immigrants) are to be seen as a threat. That's important. Even more so with Supergirl, who didn't grow up on Earth, making her the logical extension of what Superman stands for. Where Clark is an adopted refugee baby, Kara is a teenage immigrant going through the full culture shock and trauma of losing her home and family, and she managed to come through that with humility. I thoroughly disagree that TAS was bland, though. It didn't take every possible opportunity, but there were a lot of really good episodes.

Trying to convince someone to be better is hard no matter how powerful you are. And Superman has to play by the rules in order to make his point. Breaking (or in some cases changing) the rules is easy when you're powerful. That's the advantage that a character like Lex Luthor has. Superman has to expose and stop him without sinking to his level. That's not made easier by having all those superpowers. Superman can easily show that he's physically strong. What's hard is convincing people that he has the moral high ground when the situation is complicated.

That was not the story. Kang needed to know the time gem's location. He figured Clark would know but likely would never give up its location since by Kang's time period the gem's whereabouts had been unknown.

That would have been a cliche (the enemy father). It also would have been off-brand and given the situation Small World syndrome. Also, Aquaman has an Atlantean mom. What gives Aquaman his unique position is being half surface dweller. Surface dad and Atlantean Mom is Aquaman's thing. If Namor were his dad, who would then be the surface-dwelling mom? Needless when he has an excellent origin already. Also, his origin already mirrors Namor's (surface dad-Atlantean mom). Same edge, different slant when looking at the dynamics of the parents. That automatically indicates opposing (but at times complimentary views). Great dynamic. No need to do a cliche evil dad when the need for conflict is automatically there.

Let’s say at some point a Coup’de’tat happened and Namor had to flee to the Surface where he met Arthur’s mom. He spent some time there but then they are attacked and Namor barely saves them. Namor realizes that he has to return to retake his throne. He does so and sires Orm with Namora and the rest is generally up to you

I stand by the ideas I have made. Those ideas avoid small world syndrome, keep the brand, and avoid as many cliches as possible. Namor's parents were harmed by surface dwellers and his parents were people of duty. Aquaman's mom fled Atlantis while his dad protected sailors. Anything else is cliche cliche cliche and does not allow for the same edge, different slant that have always made the characters different. Anything else is pointless and shallow and self indulgent. I am not above these characters. I write to respect, not indulge my own ideas like I am a genius who imagines they know better.

That would have been a cliche (the enemy father). It also would have been off-brand and given the situation Small World syndrome. Also, Aquaman has an Atlantean mom. What gives Aquaman his unique position is being half surface dweller. Surface dad and Atlantean Mom is Aquaman's thing. If Namor were his dad, who would then be the surface-dwelling mom? Needless when he has an excellent origin already. Also, his origin already mirrors Namor's (surface dad-Atlantean mom). Same edge, different slant when looking at the dynamics of the parents. That automatically indicates opposing (but at times complimentary views). Great dynamic. No need to do a cliche evil dad when the need for conflict is automatically there.
@@DCMarvelMultiverse No I mean that you should have made Arthur’s mom a surface Dweller and Namor his dad. Let’s say at some point a Coup’de’tat happened and Namor had to flee to the Surface where he met Arthur’s mom. He spent some time there but then they are attacked and Namor barely saves them. Namor realizes that he has to return to retake his throne. He does so and sires Orm with Namora and the rest is generally up to you
I stand by the ideas I have made. Those ideas avoid small world syndrome, keep the brand, and avoid as many cliches as possible. Namor's parents were harmed by surface dwellers and his parents were people of duty. Aquaman's mom fled Atlantis while his dad protected sailors. Anything else is cliche cliche cliche and does not allow for the same edge, different slant that have always made the characters different. Anything else is pointless and shallow and self indulgent. I am not above these characters. I write to respect, not indulge my own ideas like I am a genius who imagines they know better.
