Babybird had entire albums of absolute gold, and just don't get anywhere near the recognition they deserve.

This is my favorite song from Baby Bird. I always cry cause I wanted him to be alive in the end. He was lovable. I never realized Johnny directed it till now. The world huh him for a crime he didn’t commit. He said words during that trial only a victims could say. When he said they take everything. They do. They give you a fake bill if sale and then they rob you of life itself. If I had a dime everytime I have said you take everything and give nothing or your this made up thing in my head. I would be reach right now. Narcissists take everything including your will to live. I crawled into bed and stayed there trying to sleep the days away hopping the next day would get better and it never did, gets to a point you have to run before there is nothing left of you. Those are words of a true victims. I was a victim for year. You walk on eggshell until you finally give up. It was the trial that made me realize I’m not alone. Because he said those things there is not a person in this earth that can convinced me she was the victim. I’m a female survivor of domestic abuse. Physical and mental. You have to go through it to say what he did. He didn’t take any money. He just wanted the world to realize he was the victim and that me can be victims too. I have seen woman abuse men. Get them fired lying they were sexually harassed etc. They use the me too movement not to hurt men. We can’t believe woman just cause they are woman. There is more to it. I dint mind speaking out my truth and going to court. I don’t blame him. I got abuse from my dad and my mom and then right into an abusive marriage. When he went to court he saved me and I know he saved a lot of men too. Everyone can be a victim. I feel bad for him. The me too movement took the voices of men away. We need to say men too. It’s not just us. I won’t support the me too because it silenced the voices of men and left them to be victims. It’s easy to become a victim. It’s harder to speak out about it especially if the world play judge and decides who is telling the truth or not before a person can defend themselves. He should still be Jack Sparrow. Disney dumped him to appease the cancel culture. That’s wrong. He was guilty before proven innocent. We need to stop cancel culture completely. No one on this earth deserves to be judged. We all do wrong. Period! We can do better. I for one broke my arrow too. I got on the other side of the street with Johnny. I’m not playing the game anymore. I’m going to go against the wrong society does. I place my stone on the ground. I’m not throwing stones any more. This world needs more live in it. We need to bring God back before this world is too far gone. ❤3

Not seen this before - thank you to Stephen D for re-circulating. Powerful, moving video & song. Watched it this morning & it stayed with me all day - haunting. Left me pondering the beauty & tragic frailty of life & love, as well as the rich diversity of JD's projects- past, present & future. Seems JD gives the best of himself to whatever he does - playing guitar, singing, acting, directing, painting, & a whole lot more. Love learning more about Johnny's projects. Such a talented, humble & kind-hearted man.❤

He really does just get better and better! - after the truly courageous _There's Something going on"_ album, that was SO painfilled, potent and heartfelt, which was SUCH a change in direction after what was on the surface, essentially a great sing-along pop record (Ugly / Beautiful) debut ......And then the Third album "Bugged" which I felt was really super uneven and often undercooked record, steve disappeared for a good while....Then BabyBird came back TWICE AS POWERFUL, just one album after the next! Jones is the real thing, the bedsit 8 track recording artist, with nothing but musical instruments found in trashcans and junkshops, and making something *truly* Humane and beautiful out of them, all the way to incredible professional studio albums. Looking forward to more, even if it's a decade until then.

🎶 Lyrics 🎶 Black night sky before you said goodbye Your rose colored sash and your cigarette ash You left with your girlfriends before we made amends It was 14 days of pouring rain Drips through the cracks around your window panes Filled up the holes wearing layers of your clothes On the tags you wrote my name Why can't you make up your mind, this time? I've been reading all the letters that you wrote me All the fairy tales you sold me All the pretty things you said I can't stop thinking about the way that you control me And how I wish you'd never known me I wish you'd come and hold me, hold me, hold me I've been staying at your house And you've been sleeping at his You're acting like the momma to both his kids Got a two car garage, backyard that don't end Still you're my only friend When the sun goes down this old house gets dark It's hard to paint a portrait of my broken heart I pick this up and we fell right back apart And now I don't know where to start Now that you've made your mind, this time I've been reading all the letters that you wrote me All the fairy tales you sold me And all the pretty things you said I can't stop thinking about the way that you control me And how I wish you'd never known me I wish you'd come and hold me, hold me, hold me There is no beginning Do you think that you're winning? You've made up your mind Why don't you make up your mind? I've been reading all the letters that you wrote me And all the fairy tales you sold me And all about the pretty things you said I can't stop thinking about the way that you control me And how I wish you'd never known me I wish you'd come and hold me, hold me And I've been sleeping in the place that you left me Do you regret me? Did you forget me? I can't stop thinking about the way that you control me And how I wish you'd never known me I wish you'd come and hold me Hold me Hold me Hold me Hold me I can't tell you why I can't tell you why

Babybird still excellent! \😸/ Honestly I hadn't really enjoyed the direction 'Bugged' was going in (coupla great songs on it) but then they come back, every bit as good as 'Ugly / Beautiful' and 'There's something going on...' (I love it when a great old band comes back waay later, and the new material is still fantastic - Like The Pixies managed, as well.......Suuper rare!) kzread.info/dash/bejne/o4ufpsFmlMy_paw.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/qXd6stKneKm6pNY.html
