Guys never do this this is very bad for you make the painting more or less valuable and you just made some of the details missing like the hat that she was wearing.

It was a beautiful and historical event that brought so many artists in the area who spanned decades of Black excellence. It was just a taste of those who lived and created in Chocolate City. Thank you Rashieda Witter and your phenomenal team for making this happen. Thank you NGA for supporting it.

I watched this guy carve a piece in Milan 25 years ago and it just blew everyone’s mind away. That piece sold for $70,000 and that was 25 years ago. Imagine what that is worth today. His pieces sell for crazy money. There is another statue maker in Milan that sells his statues for $200,000 a piece. Maybe much more today. It takes them a month to two months to make one statue.

Here's how to do it at home! 🎨 SUPPLIES: Tin Foil Clay Clay tools Thin wire Paint Paintbrush Glaze B-6000 glue THE PROCESS: Use tin foil to make the base shape of the insect body Cover the tin foil with clay Carve out the indents with a toothpick/carving tools, then *bake* Paint the clay the color of the insect and add the acute details Cut the wire to the length of the legs and antennae, attach to bottom with clay Use satin glaze to cover the entire bug to give it a realistic glossy look Glue on the wings MOTH INSTRUCTIONS: Wrap five wires in grey crepe paper and glue Cut eight squares out of beige crepe paper for the wings, layer and glue into shape Use wing template to cut out the big and small wings Wrap a long piece of grey paper around the middel of the large wings Paint the wings with satisfying details Bend the legs and antenna into shape Attach the big wings to the bug body by wrapping the long piece of crepe paper in an “X” Paint details onto face/body/legs Glue on the small wings

Copying the master is a great idea for learning. Two things here. He took on too much at first. The clothes are a painting all by itself. The figure or face is a challenge. I would have done it smaller to begin with . It is impossible to try to recreate a work in a larger format. I am currently doing a famous master copy portrait series and getting better results and learning soooo much. But my scale is smaller and I can use brushes of comparable size to duplicate the master. Working that big was a mistake. If you are interest in seeing them go to rickrotantefineart- Famous Artists series. To see how one should try this.
