She’s literally my grandma if she was in an alternate timeline. She even has the same face structure it’s so weirdly comforting to me.

I loved her fashion / costumes for love. angel. music. baby. Why yall gotta try and cancel her. This was the past when it was hella iconic. Not liking the cowgirl outfit for this song.

Such an unusual type of beauty, and the way Joan carried herself, no one of that era could match her timeless grace.

What no one ever mentions is the incredible music in this film - dramatic and slightly melancholic, perfectly mirroring Louise’s fraught, confused mental state.

Cannot, cannot get through this picture. Absolutely ludicrous script and that Gough guy is a cardboard cutout villain. She is professional as always, but it’s just not enough. It’s been said she turned down ‘’Cactus Flower’’ and the part went to Ingrid Bergman. Sad; just sad.

I met Mr. Korda a few years ago. He is a very nice man. He was astonished when I told him that I had the special leather-bound copy of "My Way of Life" that he gave to Joan as a Christmas gift in December 1971. It still has the note he wrote to her (paperclipped by Joan to the first page) within it.

I believe she describes her closet in her audiobook. Certainly the practice of color matching her shoes to outfits and carefully laundering and storing in plastic garment bags. It’s been so long since I listened to it I’d have to check. It may have been her closet she had with Al Steele either way it’s corroborated. 😝

I can watch ANY movie that Bette and Joan made. They are just fascinating. Stanwyck is interesting too. The era of the Movie Star only lasted through the 1970's if you ask me. All actors now seem to aim for realism instead of being larger than life. And with the internet and social media in full force now, I don't know if we will ever not see beyond the image of the Movie Star anymore.
