The BC1000Stars KZread channel was started in 2008 when it became obvious my Big Country VHS tapes were starting to deteriorate in quality, as VHS tape tends to do over time. I had to start transferring what I had to a digital format and once that was done, I thought it would be fun to start a dedicated Big Country channel.
The objective of it was simply to share my love for all things Big Country with other fans around the world.
It exists simply to help keep the great musical legacy of Big Country and Stuart Adamson alive.
If you are a subscriber or have left a comment or thumbs up to anything along the way, thank you!
To all the wonderful people who have donated clips and/or stories to share, a huge thanks to you as well.
Stay Alive as always and I hope you like it!

Great bloke !
One of the best bands ever
That was a cracker for sure!!
I want to drive a 1982 Pontiac Firebird to this
I was there with a load of my mates from work marras from Murtom pit, what a night, miners United
I just now discovered this, and am I the only one who thinks the first version/the demo is better than the second version? :o And the second version is the one recorded by the band? I just...I can't help but think that Bruce is far more a genius songwriter (musically) than anyone has ever properly given him credit for. GAH. Needless to say, I LOVE this. Thank you so much for sharing, and it's especially neat to hear both versions!
@@lyrical7747 I labeled these the way Bruce has where they originally appeared but the demo does have a finished quality to it. After looking into it further, I actually think both may feature all members of the band. These were recorded at REL Studios in November of 1986. A great instrumental either way!
Simply brilliant, enough said.
Wonderful to see footage like this, thank you x
Fantastic night I was at the Astoria. Another special night with the most fantastic musicians. Had the pleasure of seeing them 25 times. Sublime.
Epic
An excellent and unusual collection of BC songs in this vid. Really enjoyed the tracks off no place like home.
Buffalo Skinners. Greatest album in music history.
1986 Angle Park is absolutely beautiful 😀😀👍👍
I agree with this comment so much! It was dusted off for this leg of the tour only and they took it to another level. Stuart used a really clean setting for his lead lines in this version, the only time he ever did and it sounds immaculate.
Love is a small and fragile thing. I spend a lot of cold nights missing you.
Stuart would be proud. Good on you guys. I remember Bruce coming on to stage at the forum in Livingston and my cousin saying 'check Bruce's effing hair'! Opening song was Restless Natives. Awesome
I went to Big Country 1994 in Dallas, TX, this sounds exactly like they jammed, what a bad ass band live and recorded.
I was there. My first gig. Nothing has come close since.
I just learned that Vincent Friel ( Will the wolfman ) passed on the 14th of April this year (2024) aged just 64 ....r.i.p
Porrohman, Steeltown and the Storm are the Big 3 for me.
Very Excellent,..always loved Big Country!. 🙏🏻🎸
💖💖💖
That sounds immense. The guitars 🎸 sound like they're turned up to 12! 👌🔥🔥🔥😃
Awesome album Simon Phillips on drums and Mark on the drums live
💖💖💖
Stuart Loved That Shirt. And So Do i.
Great Post. many Thanks ❤
Greatest Band Live Ever.❤
What A Tune
The Presenter is A Diamond Legend Of A Man❤ Best Band Ever On This Mortal Earth.
I am so grateful for videos like this. I might have seen musicians more individually talented - doubtful- but these four? Together? I have never seen their equal.
Wow
I was there 84 or 86. June. It was so hot. We all sang along with smokey. I think Tony sang when i was there so this was prob not my concert concert. The crowd sang tony tony tony tony. And he sang
Seems to a fair size audience there. Anyone know the numbers?
Thanks for this!
Do you have this concert to upload, I had it a long time ago but it was lost. Would love to hear it again
If there ever was a song to rival The Who's Won't Get Fooled Again, as the Quintessential Epic Rock Song, it's "The Crossing"!
EINFACH NUR GEIL BIG COUNTRY RULES😎🍺🇩🇪👍
Wish i had boned my first girlfriend to this and not William orbit.
I was there
I quite like this version. It’s got a slightly brighter feel to it. Fantastic music, well crafted. Too young to have seen them in concert as the original lineup, wish I had.
Great stuff guys. Saw you up close in Chester a couple of nights ago, excellent night.
Great, great band.
At one time, I had most of these on 45 myself
best live band i ever saw, seen a lot and Big Country dozens of times always a great night.
Stuart è un dio.....
I was at this show... I was 13. I was (am) a WHO fanatic... Grew up on LI and would catch shows all the time... Including KISS at MSG 1978😂...i was 6...my 1st ever concert
Such a wonderful band, sorry they were a bit under the radar. Such talents.
Like anybody alive and listening to rock 'n roll in 1983 I heard "In a Big Country" on the radio and at parties a lot. Somehow, and to my regret, I am just now discovering how good a band this was. If only someone had sat me down in '83 and made me listen to the entirety of The Crossing. Alas, no such luck then and I've spent 40 years missing out on enjoying the band. Why they weren't bigger and on everyone's lips then, I cannot fathom. They measure up to the best of that era without breaking a sweat. But luck has arrived and I am finally out of the woods when it comes to Big Country. I managed it only this week by taking a chance on the BBC's collection of their live in-studio and on-stage recordings of the band. Phenomenal collection. Find it. It is, also, just in the last few days that I learned Stuart had died in 2001. So, as I celebrate the find, I grieve the loss. Lord, life is a trip. So, what to do, but to be inspired by the tunes to what greatness I may still have in me and stay alive while I am alive. RIP, Stuart. You will not be forgotten.
Lovely comment and welcome to the gang! Big Country fans are the very best and most loyal you'll ever find. I'm thrilled you're now on this journey!
Brilliant
I was there, lived nearby and went to the concert, it was free of charge. Where did the time go?
