PB Props

PB Props

Traditional prop and model making for film and TV or simply for your own pleasure.

If you enjoy the hands on approach to making props and models, then this is probably the channel for you.

These videos are NOT tutorials and I don't claim to be an expert on any of the topics covered, however I do invite you to tag along with me and watch how I work on any given project - and if you happen to take something away from all this to help you in your own endeavours, then it's all been worth while.

I hope that you like what you see here on PB Props and Models - and thanks for stopping by.

  • @PBProps

    I wouldn't know where to go for that, all I can suggest that you do is find the drawings for the full scale prop and then divide every measurement by 13. It's really that simple.

    what glue did you use to make the box to make the ranis tardis and how strong was it

  • @PBProps

    Casting my mind back across the 11 years since I made this, I seem to recall that it was a grab adhesive and was really very strong. Stronger than the material that it was bonding.

    The EARTHSHOCK re-design is my favourite. Wish this re-design had flashing lights, in the chest unit, to tie them to the ‘60s Cybermen. The flashing lights would have made them look even more impressive, with the many shots of the Cybermen in the gloomy freighter hold. Never did like the silver-painted ski boots. They look goofy with the Cyberman’s new lanky frame. It was an improvement (imo) when they were swapped out for the silver and grey canvas lace-ups.

  • @PBProps
    @PBPropsАй бұрын

    I do rather like the Earthshock type, mind you, they were my first exposure to the Cybermen. The moon boots were crap though, I agree -though as you said, at least they swapped them for the snow boots for the next story onwards.

  • @PBProps

    It really depends on the plastic. Polypropylene, it does in most cases when you reflow it with heat, but this wouldn't work so well on styrene, ABS and the likes.

  • @PBProps

    Future proofing, in case I ever need to strip it down. It also makes it a cleaner join where glue would normally seep through the mesh. It also helped during the build as I constantly needed to put it together and take it a part again as I test fitted the parts. Glad that you liked it though, cheers for tuning in!
