    Sounds pretty sick! Thank you so much for the thorough review. Do you think stacking two of these pedals would work well as main overdrive? I'm aiming for a Bernard Butler kind of sound, and he used to stack two Turbo Rats together.

    Hey Jimmy, thanks for the message. I don't know if you're old enough to remember this but I remember when the original ProCo RAT was released and I saw many guitarists using two of them. I assumed that they had one for rhythm and chords and one for lead. Switching between the two with something like a Gigrig Quartermaster or a Boss LS2 is one plan. If stacking RATS, I would say have one on minimum drive, and the other with more drive and volume. Experimentation with the ordering too could achieve interesting variety. It is definitely worth having a go to see if you can recreate your favourite sounds. Thanks for watching! Best regards, Dale Harris

    Hi. Thank you so much for this great video. How would you suggest to clean the slider without disassembling the RMC? Can I just use a Kontakt Chemie 60/61 or WL ? If yes, which one would be the best? Also, sorry for all those questions: how to proceed in practice? I aim at the slider, put a little and then slide the slider? There is no risk for the rest of the electronic? Thanks again and have a nice day ! .

    Always start with compressed air which is harmless. You can get it in a spray canister. Give the slot a good wiggle and see if it clears. Second is a non-chemical electronic switch cleaner. It depends on your country as to which exact products to use. Deoxit and Servisol are what I often use, but use sparingly and only after trying air and wiggle! I've never had to spray my Godin's but maybe yours has been exposed to radical temperature fluctuations? Best regards, Dale Harris

    Great demonstrations. Just wondering, as the 2019 Guitar Syllabus has the scales and arpeggios mentioned in a different order. Do we still play the scales according to the ABRSM Guitar Scales Grades 1-5 Book, as it is the order (not the technique/fingerings) that is out of date? My pupil is sitting a grade 2 exam. Thanks

  • @EverythingGuitar23
    @EverythingGuitar2312 күн бұрын

    Rule no 1, always check the ABRSM website to see if there are any updates. The 2019 syllabus and books remain valid as of summer 2024. There's a PDF download that states the exact requirements. Fingerings are always suggested and not compulsory. www.abrsm.org/sites/default/files/2023-09/complete_guitar_syllabus.pdf See page 19 for exact specifications. I hope that this helps! Well without wishing to be disrespecful that sound AND playing is a million miles from a Shadows sound. As usual when people play these classic hits but are NOT really a TRUE Shads fan they ADD notes that are not in the original because they do NOT listen PROPERLY to how Hank played them. The soind on this and your other recordings is THIN and METALIC sounding and the ECHO PATTERN is completely wrong.

  • @EverythingGuitar23

    I see no problem in covering extra synth notes in the introduction where a keyboard player isn't available. Someone has to cover such an important musical part in order for the piece to be complete (see my arrangements of Wagner opera for instance). To me, there's an OCD problem in the tribute world, and basically people should learn to lose up a bit and serve the music and not the backward headed notion of "copying". We had the same deal with the authentic-music brigade in the field of renaissance and baroque music. There will always be a divide between those who simply wish to promote music and make it available to the following generations, and those who hark back to the days of bullying and wrapping a student's knuckles with a ruler for daring to step outside the norms of one's "school".

Sorry but you ARE going to get criticzized by REAL SHADS fans like me we expect these classics to be played note for note and TONE perfect that's the way it is. I have all the original gear to recreate this EARLY Shadows sound and we are DEDICATED to recreating that "Abbey Road" recorded sound so maybe I shouldn't be criticizing you so heavily.....it's just VERY annoying to TRUE Shadows Fanatics.

    I like mine, but if you turn another knob without returning the previous knob back to saved position, that feature goes away. Kind of silly. Strymon definitely has walrus beat in the saving, copying, and recalling a preset within the pedal.

  • @antonioaguiar5071
    @antonioaguiar507111 күн бұрын

    Hey man I understand that it seems daft, but I actually got the pedal and if the level is above 25% you pretty much get almost no dry signal. In practical applications you pretty much will never realistically use it above that range. I think this guys actually demoed the pedal pretty well.

  • @pekerhed101
    @pekerhed10111 күн бұрын

    @@antonioaguiar5071 I hear ya...but a proper demo should cover a pedal fully. Depending on what genre one plans to use the pedal for, a lot of people wanna hear what it sounds like DROWNING in wetness...for atmospheric reasons. It'd only take the reviewer 20 seconds to explore the other 75% of that dial.

  • @EverythingGuitar23

    Two reasons why your request is unreasonable: first, is that I'm making videos and music because I love the subject. If others want to observe, that's great. It is with regret that some find my videos irritating; but I can't do much about that. Second, if say one was to adhere to your preference of demonstrating the extremes of a pedal, why then have I yet to have seen a delay demo where the pedal is set to a 4 second delay and infinite repeats? The answer would be because the needs of the many usually outweigh the few (Star Trek III). Best regards, Dale Harris from Everything Guitar

    What’s the difference between this and the Behringer Ultra Chorus? I have the Ultra but I think this might be better.

  • @EverythingGuitar23
    @EverythingGuitar23Ай бұрын

    As far as I know, the Behringer Ultra Chorus is basically a Boss CH-1 Chorus. Which I believe is a standard chorus (delay/pitch/vibrato set against the dry tone). Whereas the Behringer Chorus Space- D is a Tri-chorus; namely two different delay/pitch/vibrato pitches set against the dry tone. The latter should be thicker, and can almost flange and when placed in stereo achieving a huge panned effect. I've always preferred Tri-chorus over the standard one. It's basically down to taste; it's like the difference in stereo between a Boss CE-3 and the Boss DC-2. I hope that this helps? All the best, Dale Harris
