  You get a lot of catch ypu should adjust the angle of the chisel its to high causing the regular catch

  Personal ask... find a wood with interesting grain. And when you cut it and put it on the lathe, have 1 side centered on the heart, and other at least 30 degrees over onto the edge of the wood... i want to see how the grain would look

  That’s how to ruin an axe, using it for a wedge. You can crack it through the eye, not to mention ruining the pole.

  Awesome video, I e if the most rustic builds I've seen with no cheating! For the legs did you just drill and carve to fit, or did you taper the hole? 8ve been overthinking what to do and not sure of the whole idea of tapered tennons is needed when the leg is tapered anyway. Any thoughts?

  If the leg is tapered but the mortice it goes in is not, you don't get a stable joint.

  Save your poor axes and cut yourself a good wood club to beat on them with.. hickory is good tough wood to use.
