bit of advice, on the right forward side of the gearbox is the oil cooler return tube, you can disconnect this and put a drain hose on it and after filling the sump pump out 2 litres of old oil with the engine running, stop the engine and fill another 2 litres and continue till clear oil is coming out, its called a soft flush and if you want every year you can just flush 10 litres of fluid through the system without dropping the pan
@ukaszjurys247511 ай бұрын
he should have drain oil from converter as well .Do not see point to not do that.This is mixing dirty oil with new oil...
@Galaxygamerrr2 ай бұрын
Thank you. I utilized this method today after much debate. I replaced my radiator and upon starting the engine to check for any unintended mishaps, I actually used the wrong O ring to secure the transmission cooler tube. It leaked most of the trans fluid all over the place. My Benz is actually my mom's, and upon inspection of the fluid, it's apparent that she's never changed this fluid throughout the life of the car. I had the option of either giving my last $300 to a mechanic, spending a bunch of time and money I don't have on doing it this way, or doing a simple soft flush. The soft flush worked great. I am still planning on discussing with my mom about splitting the costs for a full transmission fluid change, but it helped out tremendously. Thank you, I thought I was crazy for even considering this option, but the loss of most of the old fluid plus a healthy top-up has the car running like new, albeit temporarily.
