its proves even further, that Dune part 1 is boring because you need to watch it with part 2 in a marathon

Love how Stilgar and his troops have been lying silently to Paul’s left the whole time…such stealth.

I like how part two starts up with Princess Irulan. Incase you don't know, in the book at the start of every chapter there's a piece of text from the Princess Irulan, so it feels like this movie's way of adaptating that aspect of the novel

I appreciate when a director doesn’t see their audience as a horde of morons.

Sorry, but the 2nd film was a waste. No mentats, the years Paul spent fighting the harkkonens was skipped over and squashed into a few short months, the KZ aspect was barely mentioned, silgar became too much of a zealot, alia wasn’t born, why he needed to drink the water of life and how that played out was practically nonexistent, the emperor as a character was wasted, and by the end they changed chani so much that she doesn’t gel now with canon or the books at all. They should’ve done 3 films, the middle one focussing more on the buildup to the final battle and then spent most of a third film on the climax and aftermath….. shame, as the first had great promise and the na-baron was excellent…. :).

Would love to see the end of part 1 connected with the last 1 minute of this video, with the part inbetween being added after the Fremen fight the floating Harkonnen(or was it Sardaukar) guys. It would make for a great change in my opinion.

I really hope they do a back-to-back screening release before the Dune Messiah film comes out. Obviously, they'd have to put a 10 minute intermission between parts to give the audience a break

Zendaya was a bad enough casting, but jebus, how did we go from Virginia Madsen to whatever this was? Frumpy Princess of the known universe who cuts her own hair and buys her clothes on Rakuten?

Rebeccas Control over her expressions is amazing in the scene where she saw Paul smiling she seemed happy at first but afterwards she kinda became aware again of what they’ll have to do now to survive! I’m so happy she was casted as lady Jessica ❤

Paul continuing his path into the desert feels so sad in retrospect now, considering how Dune Part 2 goes. Just feels inevitable. Like seeing a train going towards a ravene but being powerless to stop it.

I liked the way they pronounced Harkonnen in David Lynch's Dune. Sounded more threatening with a 'k' followed by a long 'o'. 1:56 The way they communicate in this movie is pretty solid. It reminds me of the Death troopers in Rogue One.

I love this version of Princess Irulan. Between the way DV scripted her and the way Pugh played her, you really get a sense of what a next level human being she is. Extremely intelligent and thoughtful, very strong sense of morality. But also extremely shrewd, with an innate sense of the "calculus of power." She hates what her father did to Leito, but she doesn't get emotional about it because she knows he hates it too. I feel like any other movie wouldn't have been able to resist making her the "righteous" one, giving her some big dramatic scene crying about the injustice of it all. Instead, with the minimum amount of screen time, they somehow managed to give her this incredibly subtle, but very clear characterization.

Its a fucking masterpiece My grandma is downstairs. I've blasted this beautiful sound (as usual when I watch dune) so loud, she could hear it. She doesn't understand a word (we're german), and yet she screams "god damn, what are you watching again???!" - thats how powerful this is, with the tone, the music and the silence…

The way your dad looked at it, this planet was your birthright. He'd be damned if any sardaukar gonna put their greasy hands on his boy's birthright, so he hid it, in the one place he knew he could hide something: his ass. Five long years, he wore this planet up his ass. Then when he died of dysentery, he gave me the planet. I hid this uncomfortable sphere of rock and spice up my ass for two years. Then, after seven years, I was sent home to my family. And now, little man, I give the planet to you.
