I hope you have enjoyed the reset and wish you all the very best!! Your platform and methods are proven and you've got a great base to keep you going however you decide to move forward!!

    I live in southeast Michigan, been wanting to get a portable set up, idk if I want a saddle or a climber, I’m a crossbow and gun hunter and I feel if I get a saddle I’d only use it for gun, how much did your whole saddle setup cost?

  • @NewDayOutdoors
    @NewDayOutdoors4 күн бұрын

    @fessenden3337 hard to say cost actually. I have multiple saddle and climbing setups these days. Like everything there are more affordable options and expensive options. But these days a guy can get setup qith a decent saddle, sticks, platform, and basic accessories for $500-$600. Or you can drop $1000-$1500. It all just depends on what you want. Tons of great idiots out there in 2024 for a variety of price points.

    When you might need financing, or to sell your first born to buy a cap for your truck . . .you might be doing it wrong , it looks nice but prices are seriously out of control. On a good note many people will be making their own rigs and posting the results and tutorials on line, like in the good old days.

    Been thinking of getting one of these myself. I priced out a Leer or ARE cap and it was still a little over $4K. So the cost of the RSI isn't that much more...especially considering it is made out of steel and not fiberglass.

    I think you're absolutely correct on your determination that it's a wash. I'm 53 and have been saddle hunting for 4 years. Definitely a subjective, not one size fits all argument. If I'm heading in a long way, one stick because it's lighter (at least my set up). If I'm hunting public on a short trek in, maybe multi stick. One sticking is slightly more physical than multi sticking. I'm in very good shape, but it's true. Especially if you're trying to make the most of your moves while one sticking. I think people have to experiment and see what works for them. Everything from different types of saddles, to platforms, and sticks. To say one system is the best is simply saying it's the best for you.
