  It's way above average for the breed. At that weight, the humans have to be constantly on guard about heart and hip problems, which are common in the giant breeds.

  I remember when the lake we lived on in North Jersey was frozen my Newfoundlands loved it too. It was safer with a coating of snow..they ate the snow.
