What a difference a year makes. Sad what’s happened to treetops. Use to be my favourite place. Over grown with weeds now which make it practically unfishable and the people I’ve spoken to blanked in their last few visits so don’t go any more. I haven’t been for over 7 months for those reasons. Can’t see it staying open much longer as no fish get caught (if any get stocked) and the weeds are no longer being maintained.

Arr that is sad news, it was a great fisheries. I know it was up for sale. It's such a shame.

@@theflyingfisherman8941 I believe the sale fell through. It’s been for sale for years but I don’t think the owners run it properly anymore. Overgrown with weeds. Only 3 of the 8 pools are actually fishable and anyone I speak to says they’ve blanked there over the past year. If not right that bookings are still being taken if it’s not being maintained or stocked. The owners are lovely people but I don’t think they’re hearts are in the fishery anymore so it would be best to close till it’s sold. If it ever is. I hope if it’s sold, it remains a fly fishery because the scenery is about and nice as you’ll find

Stocked daily and about 1,100 fish are caught per week on average. Well worth a visit. 1 hours drive from Liverpool

Good to see Chirk fishery getting on the net. We travelled from Kent every June to fish Chirk's amazing mayfly hatch. Further down the road is a nice secluded campsite in the hills that we stay at. Chirk can be difficult sometimes with plenty of fish cruising about but not feeding, often a tiny size 16 or 18 Griffiths Gnat and stealthy approach is the key, even if no fish are rising. There's a great variety of trout stocked there, blues, rainbows, tigers, brook and even a few orange specials. Blues go like trains...! We've moved north a few years ago so don't get to Chirk every year now but hopefully we'll be back in 2021....👍
