When Giddey touches the ball, good things happen. He is a passing savant; can get to the rim and score or set a team mate up. Benching him for no intelligent reason is ridiculous

The biggest mistake at World’s was overplaying Kay at the expense of Reath. It’s just ridiculous that DJ is even in the conversation, he is out. Daniels is in. I am taking McVeigh and leaving Goulding out so I can take Kay and Ingles.

I like the premise of needing a sharp shooter like CG or DJ in there, and i feel like we have this discussion before every tournament. Yet when the tournament comes around, CG never even gets any playing time (largely because he cant guard anyone and for whatever reason, just doesn't shoot well at all outside of friendlies and is still living off the rep from one tournament even though he sucked at 3 others). When we won bronze in the Olympics, Patty obviously was sensational, but it was guys like Tisse, Exum, Ingles, Landale and even Kay etc that shot really consistently from 3 (whereas they were pretty poor at the World Cup), and with Green and Duop added to the mix, we need to rely (and hope) that they shoot well, we'll just have to live or die by it. I like Kay but i think he's cooked and should sit out too. We were severely undersized at the World Cup so i'd take Magnay even if he saw limited or even zero minutes because i'd personally have Duop and Landale start together, but if one or the other starts, then that's fine too. But yeah, i'd go with Kane's squad except dropping CG for Magnay, everything else i'm on board with.

After weeks/months of training, knowing you still gotta pay the coaches/team… if I’m conscious, pls let me fight til the end is how I think most fighters feel. The ref is there to stop a fight once a fighter is no longer consciously attempting anything, not to save you from “pontential” damage. Menifield was still scrambling is all I’m saying.

Dumb move by the coach, it affects the flow of the game. Giddey is a play maker, SGA is more a 1 on 1 player. Yes, Giddey is not a great 3 point shooter but to say his defense is suspect is not totally true. He has good size and rebounds the ball very well and his court awareness is exceptional.

Aussies in the comment are so clearly biased. If you actually watched the basketball, it is almost unplayable with dort and giddey, on offence. Fort brings defence, giddey is a heavily offensive player who can’t shoot and thus hurts the offense. Yes if he’s on ball he’s good, but shai is so much better and giddey can’t play off ball without negatively impacting the team. Anyone who’s paid attention to the thunder all year knew this was coming in the playoffs. Also I’m a proud Aussie btw and I really want him to do well and I’m loving Josh greens work for the mavs.
