Ibn 'Arabi Society

Ibn 'Arabi Society

Muhyiddin Ibn ’Arabi was born in Medieval Spain, then home to an extraordinarily enlightened culture of religious tolerance among Muslims, Jews and Christians, a period that can serve us today as an inspiring example of the possibility of fruitful co-existence and cooperation among different cultures.

As one of history’s greatest universal mystics and interpreters of the human condition, Ibn ’Arabi’s teachings can offer us a window into a form of Islam that we in the West are rarely exposed to, as well as a more sophisticated understanding of the more exalted aspects of the Islamic cultural heritage.

I am also an Uwaysi, at the level of a beginner. I appreciate the subject of this talk and the work of MIAS. It has helped to contain and suppress my inflation when it was a threat, and I am made to be "God wary", and to embrace my intrinsic nothingness. All praise and thanks and glory to Allah, and may His servants enjoy His protection and solicitude. Thank you Jane Clark!

ibn Arabi was faithful to both shari`a as well as haqqiqah. many people over the centuries have tried to twist the Path to suit their selves. I shudder.

Has there ever been any effort to harmonize-unify, to map Ibn Al Arabi's ideas to modern sciences, esp physics and neuro-bio-psychology? (perhaps a bit like what Zukav did with eastern religious ideas and modern particle physics) Also, how about comparisons of Al Arabi's thinking with Taoism and/or Buddhism?

The Barzakh is the triad that births the tetrad. The Barzakh is the third that is both A and B, it is also AB and the Barzakh simultaneously gives rise to a third namely C which brings forth the fourth the tetradic D. This fourth is also known as Turiya in Sanatana Dharma [Hindu philosophy].

One question where I am not sure if I have understood it correctly: Does Ibn Arabi claim every human being to have a Qarin from birth onwards? Or just some human beings? Thanks for clarification.

  • @suelyparak7418

As i understand from Ibn Arabi's theories, i say that he believes that every human is born with a Qarin.

Yeah that's right... Its from the Prophetic saying.. Plus you can see the Qarin, Hamzad once you're inner eye opens.. And this is how to see what people been upto etc.. Ritual has to be done though unless you got a Perfect Master..
