Thanks for this video. I am looking at your example of converting the single point rubric to a quantifiable mark. (2:44) If the student met 2 of the 3 criteria for structure, how would you score that?

It's really about meeting what's defined in the box - if they don't meet it as "defined", they have not met the "success criteria" and should be awarded "Not Yet" status or points. Hope that helps; thank you for watching!

Hello, Jeff. I was told a few days ago, by the Disability Office of my university that I cannot be excused or accommodated for any medical mishaps or accidents because I am an online student, even with the documentation that I provided. My instructor was the one who guided me to reach out to them, to formally document my accident in the military, but they dismissed me as "not eligible" for any protections under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 because I am not a campus student.

Great method of teaching new vocabulary. It's absolutely very effective using it when read aloud with children in the classroom. Thank you for sharing:)

Too bad we don't see discussion on these videos. I'm a retired (10 years) Texas high school certified composite social studies teacher with an undergraduate (B.S.) in political science (worked 2 years in government in economic development), minors in geography and history from Georgia Southern University. My Texas high school certification is from the University of Texas. I have a master's in education integrating technology in the classroom. We started using computers in our district Texas classrooms about 1995. I seamlessly integrated the subjects I taught; USA history, world history, geography, government, and economics into a computer system using our Texas state standards. All my students passed the state mandated social studies test. I taught in an at-risk high school. I was constantly upgrading and improving our system. Students would write essay papers on the computer. I could easily check and grade the papers, even looking for plagiarism. I had students writing papers using the MLA format too. The computer automatically graded multiple choice questions. The most exciting part was instantly giving feedback to the students via the computer. I was then able to go one on one with students.I used a lot of formal reasoning skills and taught these skills to develop students' thinking. I would suggest other internet sites and Web content to students such as "Purplemath" which is free content. The skills I developed took years of hard work and study. I'd discover students unable to read because they didn't have glasses. We had a great district technology support staff. I had only one instance of a student accessing our district's computer system. Sure, I was called on the carpet for not watching the student close enough. Hahaha. I'd say the student taught the technical department about hacking. Where did I get my start? I'm a 1966 graduate of Corunna High School in Shiawassee County where we had great teachers like our agricultural teacher, Mr. Jack Deppong. I was drafted into the USA Army in 1967 and sent to the Republic of Vietnam. Have success, coming to you from near Fort Worth, Texas.
