I own both. An Impact M3 in .22 and an HW 100 in .20 cal. Both are FAC. So I need to get that out of the way at the outset. Given that you guys are limited to 12fpe, this discussion is simply an FYI chat. In no way do I intend pitting the one brand against the other. Perdonally I like and respect both. I've owned my HW 100 for nearly 4 years. During which time it developed a very minor leak. I've had my FX for 3 years and not a day's trouble. I suspect, its because I don't fiddle and adjust and tweak. At the outset I set it up for long range work. It shoots 30grain .218 H&N slugs @985fps. ( 65fpe) To this day, without touching either the gun or scope (Hawke Frontier FFP) it will print sub MOA groups at 100m all day long, with a PB of 15mm. My HW 100 is a superb gun for targets under 75m. (8 to 10mm groups all day long at 50m) I run 15.89 JSB @785 fps. ( 23fpe) NB These pellets have one of the highest, if not the highest BC's ( 0.047) Suffice it to say, I suspect FX's myriad adjustability features may be its Achilles heel. It may not be designed / suited to lower power. ( I'm not an engineer) So, my humble advice is, once your impact is set up, stop fiddling and twisting and adjusting, and it should serve you well. Having said all this, if I was limited to 12fpe, I'd choose an HW100 in .20 cal....Yes .20 cal. Shooting JSB 13.73 or H&N 11grainers.

Should try the little HW 30 it's as accurate as any of the others up to 20 yards. Is for me anyway. Thinking of the thumbhole 97 though. Great vid. 👍

Hello mate, a funny and very nice video... I still have my TX 200 .22 FAC that is still in brilliant condition from when I bought it new when it first came out... At 1st i thought it were going to be an earlier model ,being a older gentleman, but a walnut mk3 model 😮 i bet you were buzzing, gorgeous gun ,im after the same type myself ,i have HW77 in laminate green ,best rifle ive shot ,love the iron sights too ,apart from that its pretty much the same as the 97...and Mr Alan 🫡 what a kind generous man you are ,i hope seeing him so excited about having your rifle brings you equal joy. Had a tx200 back in the mid 90s I was using crossman premier pellets in 22 which my tx loved this rifle was very accurate only thing I didn’t like was the weight but when using it you forgot about the weight when I bought mine it cost me £315 that was scoped with a 3x9x40 which was ideal for hunting

Definitely on my next gun list one of these, I have the pro sport which is so accurate and a pleasure to shoot but a bit of a fart on to cock when in the field especially if you get the chance of a second shot, you’re not that conspicuous.

I'm about to purchase my first air rifle. Not sure if I should go for the more expensive Air Arms TX200 with Laminate Stock or the slightly cheaper Weihrauch HW97KT Blackline in synthetic stock... Package deals from RedBeck Shooting Supplies are £1200 vs £755 respectively. I really don't want to spend £1200 but maybe I should just go for it... any advice?

Its better to buy once and be happy than buy twice I think the tx200 edges it especially from stock far less noisey .

The spread is not brilliant. My sub 12 500mm is giving a DV of 6 and SV of 2 with JSB Heavies, H&N are as good with almost every pellet they make. FX barrels do like the softer lead of H&N.

That's the thing with FX, they're designed for tinkering....if you know what you're doing or enjoy watching youtube vids to learn how to. If you want a gun to just pick up and shoot buy something else. Hope this doesn't sound like i'm being a smart arse, I don't mean to.

Had a pair of Hawke binoculars for a few years and love them. When i bought an air rifle recently and needed a scope, I naturally bough a Hawke and guess what? It’s brilliant, very pleased. Great products across the board.

@airhunteruk I've convinced tge Mrs to buy me the synthetic staneless for Christmas like but I do intend around Feb to get it in a sheffield custom stock as they look the bollix I'm the custom stocks then it'll be a nick simmons tune all being well had a nightmare with my 100 lately so could do with a good springer so I never have to fall back to my cheap remington again lol
