This is the most comprehensive series of lectures on lifestyle changes. He thinks like an engineer-thorough and methodical. We all know that these foods are bad, but we just didn't realize HOW toxic they really are and the extent of their effects. These lectures were the scariest thing I have ever listened to. Thank you, Dr. Sorescu! What was super helpful is how he shows photos of good foods and bad foods.

Ozempic, Mounjaro , and Wegovy are NOT good drugs, nor are they an answer to a problem. They presently cost over $1000 per month unless you are one of a limited class of patient's whose insurance will pay for these ultra- expensive drugs which have to be taken for life or any weight lost, will be regained. Beyond that, 40% of the weight lost tends to be lean body mass ie muscle, which does not return when you stop taking these drugs. I am a physician who has studied the literature about these drugs rather extensively. Assuredly ultra-processed food, resulting in Metabolic Illness and Hyper -insulinemia is a disaster and is the major cause of Obesity, Diabetes, and possibly Heart Disease, Fatty Lier, and even Alzheimer's. Big Food slowly poisons us, and Bid Pharma promotes a pill for every ill philosophy that keeps the elderly alive but barely alive for as long as possible. I am a retired physician and for me a ketogenic diet and a walking program has gotten me off Amlodipine, Rosuvastatin, and Metformin and resulted in just 23 months has resulted in a 37 pound weight loss, lower blood pressure, a normal HgbA1C, and a lowering of triglycerides to 60 from 130 and an increase of HDL from 42 to 60. In the end, it's all about nutrition and physical activity. Mounjaro, Wegovy, and Ozempic are NOT the solution to a problem. They are instead a problem, and they are a big problem for those who develop refractory gastroparesis or pancreatitis from taking these medications. Metabolic Dysfunction is a major root cause of a variety of chronic diseases including DM, Alzheimer's Disease, Chronic Kidney Disease, Obesity, Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease, Depression and a variety of so-called "mental illnesses"!

Metabolic dysfunction is what we need to focus on. Depression, DM, AD, cancer, CKD, HF is all driven by metabolic dysfunction. Inflammation driven by environmental toxins, ultraprocessed foods, fructose, alcohol, emotional stress and poor sleep. GLP 1RA works. It shows that reducing calories has a magnanimous effect on metabolic health. If we can reduce insulin resistance then it automatically translates into better metabolic health. Thanks Dr. S.

This was an amazing lecture. Getting ready to listen to part two now. Take home from part 1: “The longer the shelf life of the food you eat, the shorter your good life.” Cut out the highly processed foods NOW! And NO MORE soda pop!

Dr. Sorescu's talk about life-style change and as a recently diagnosed HF patient my attention was drawn to glifozin when I heard discussion that lab tests showed similar results to people classified as "low mass hyper-responders" responding to a FASTING regimen. My thought on that is we might get the same result from FASTING as from these super-expensive drugs.

Intermittent fasting is just as good as these SL drugs. Eat in a six hour window...or even tighter

Dr Sorescu presented an engaging session on health and diet for our company this week and why we should all be aware of the impact of diet and lifestyle. He also gives a similar lecture to medical students at Emory University Medical School. If you would like to prevent heart disease, cancer, and other diseases, this is great information. He also debunks misleading information coming from industry promoted studies.
