interesting comments sir, but i would like to offer a different one. l do not think there can be enough goodness to justify our existence, there is just too much suffering to contend with. we suffer both from our own doings as humans and from nature itself. The idea that we as humans, through whatever belief structure we choose to align with, can transcend suffering by doing more is a farce, (I mean this respectfully). First for us to even create this good, we are to agree that all individuals have to aspire to be good, which is an impossible task. Sin is human's eternal driving motor, and l've never heard of any person who transcend sin apart from Jesus who was not only human but a God. So am I saying we resign to sini and pursue hedonism? or we should just try to live this flip flop life of playing both sides, good and bad? neither. l do think subconsciously that we all should pursue righteousness and that doing good will make the world so much better, but it won't be enough to justify existence though. I will be honest to admit that even with Christ I still find myself falling short of perfection. l do sometimes think perhaps it would have been better had we not been created or maybe God should created world devoid of suffering but with freewill. or maybe we should limit our desires and expectations, or allow ourselves to love as all these brings possibilities of suffering? but will that be living? Accepting Christ or any idea that forces us to become the best version of ourselves can and is good for the world, but it's not sufficient to justify our existence. sometimes I wonder if the biblical new heaven, new earth would still contain freewill? if yes, then would it be possible for suffering to exist again?
