  Realizing that as a child/oldest I got "shut off" from sharing, speaking my mind, etc. In my early school life I was bullied so I grew up feeling like I had no safe emotional outlet. As an adult now, I'm making all these connections in regard to how they affect my communication skills especially with family. New challenge, I feel like my family is still NOT validating how I feel. Things are still being swept under the rug. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. Any tips maybe on how I can start validating how my family members feel first?

  I assume that I play multiple roles in my family. I can be a planner for a long distance trip. This means I often take care of places to go or games to play during the trip. On the other hand, I can also be a cheerleader and a hero who cheer people up and find the solution in difficult situations then take actions to deal with reality in my family. Although this is meaningful to me, I sometimes can become stressful because of overworkload or exterior pressure.
