Good job Simon 👍🧙♀️🧟♀️🌲🦌🌱🌳
I've never modified a deck, but this has inspired me to give it a try. It definitely improved an already great deck. Enjoy working with it!
Do you have links to the tools used? Or the names? What is the round corner thingy called? And I need to find a small paper cutter. Or is it a card cutter? Idk…but want to try a deck. This was a perfect tutorial for me! Much appreciated all the effort ls you put into your channel. I’ve looked all over Etsy and can’t find the lady who makes your deck reading pad.
Wow. Taking those borders off makes all the images come alive! ❤
Watkins is giving 25% off Alan Moore upcoming book Im really looking forward to it. The moon and serpent…
Beautiful! One of my favourite decks of all time and one I still use today...
I have both the Greenwood and the Wildwood. I adore them both and can't choose a favorite. That said, I do tend to use Wildwood more because there's more material for it - the expanded companion book (compared to the original Greenwood book), the "workbook", the Year in the Wildwood book and the Facebook group.
@@sacredsortilege yes, that’s true!
It looks great - the images are truly unleashed when you trim the borders! I'm such an advocate for modding decks - never mind it is so much fun!
@@ErisElizabeth it really is, I had a lovely couple of hours with it last night.
I used to want The Greenwood Tarot, until I watched a video put out by Patrick comparing the Greenwood Tarot to the Wildwood Tarot. I prefer the images on the Wildwood Tarot.
This was lovely video, and for a day, when I needed it most. When I first left a dangerous relationship, and was trying to calm myself, this deck, and your channel were the things that carried me through. I still remember it was my first attempt ever to modify a deck, and what that felt like to try to claim something for myself again. I still think a kind of super deck, with the Druid Craft tarot, would be so interesting. I was trying to achieve that, melding the two together. My mod at the time less successful, at least for my too perfectionist spirit back then. Old voices die hard. Maybe I will try again, inspired by your video today. I can't wait for your deeper dive. I am so happy to see this deck get the love it deserves. Thank you for what you do. It means a great deal. I am very grateful for your help then, and now, to light the dark. Blessings to you.
@@marinakay7141 What a very kind message for me to wake up to this morning. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this. I am so pleased to hear that you have gone from a dark time and are now safely on the other side . Much love to you now, and peace for all that you do moving forward 🙏🏼❤️
another great video, you are simply the best🙏🏻🤎
Thank you 🙌 As are you! 😍
Excellent work, congrats! i didn't even know a guillotine existed and i trimmed the druid craft deck with my scissors, i didn't do a good job unfortunately.. i wish they had a better quality of paper in this deck , it is really huge and glossy and the box is not good to keep the cards too
These turned out very well. I think modding decks can sometimes save them. Unfortunately for me, although the modding experience itself wasn't bad, I found I had attached some sort of psychological scarring to the decks I modded by doing so, that kept me from reaching for them. If I had modded this deck, that line at the bottom of the backs would be a constant nagging reminder. I'd probably want to find a way to reback them, but end up screwing everything up by trying to go that far. I took the borders off my Maria Celia in a tin but ended up falling in love with the deck all over again after buying a replacement copy that remained uncut. Our perceptions of things do mature and change over time. I wouldn't be surprised if at some point you buy a replacement copy, but I think it's important to have gone through this process.
@@toadstooltarot I agree! I did exactly that with Everyday Enchantment 😉
I used this deck last week and paired it with the old ways magick oracle by Naomi Cornock they are stunning together. I love mine with boarders but your mod is stunning. Thanks for sharing Simon 💜
You’re very welcome lovely, and thank you 🙏🏼 😍
I use this beautiful deck for contemplation, not least when overwhelmed by the ubiquitous artifice of the world around us.
I just got a secondhand Wild Wood! I've been resisting it, but IDK why because I also connect with the Druidcraft too 😂 I've been thinking about printing out my own Greenwood, but I honestly have no idea how to go about it. I would dearly love to know how the WW and GW guidebooks compare.
I have both decks and guidebooks. Most of the Greenwood companion guidebook is contained in the Wildwood companion guidebook. There are differences between the decks so not everything made it into the Wildwood companion guidebook. Overall, the Wildwood guidebook is more comprehensive and, IMO, better. You can view the complete Greenwood Tarot companion guidebook on the internet archive. There's also another guidebook/PDF made by Chesca Potter that is different from the one that came with the deck - it can also be found online. It's a great supplement to the Greenwood companion guidebook.
Beautiful job. Ill do the same to my copy.
Have fun!
I have been looking for a wildwood tarot video from you last week and I was so confused why there weren't any! I have recently purchased the mobile application and I enjoy it so much. I love this synchronicity.
Yes, I realised that I got it before I started my channel!
Literally yesterday, I pulled out the Wildwood Tarot from my shelf and was once again (I mean this happens every single time, as I turn to it rarely) pleasantly surprised by the accuracy of the reading and the insane energy coming from this deck! The artwork is stunning!
It really is! This is another reminder why I never pass on decks, there’s always a point in the future where they call to you and start to resonate 😍
Looking at the 10 of swords, it seems to me that the upright figure (who we see from the back) is holding the 10th sword? I can find only 9 swords in the person on the ground? And that raises so many questions for me!?! It’s not just that this figure is walking past the person on the ground without offering assistance or support - they are walking toward them with the 10th sword… Or have I misunderstood?
This is stunning - defo ordering - love it. Thanks for sharing ❤
Hope you enjoy it! 😍
Magical! Thank you, as always, for expanding my tarot understanding.
You are so welcome 😍
i agree the artwork is amazing it's beautiful!! have to wait until payday.ty for the review.

Porque son imágenes de un hombre desnudo y no podes mostrar eso en tik tok
Love this deck !!
It's so good! 😊
Dear Simon, I am deeply touched by your video. You grasped the essence of the project. Magic is a science of the imagination! I am so looking forward to knowing your thoughts when you have emerged from my world. I spread my point of view on magic all over the project....that is an exploration about why and the different ways tarot are magic tools.... :) so many thinks to say. so many ideas to share :) thanks again for this most beautiful video. i really appreciated your depp insight on what I have created :) I am deeply honoured and grateful :)
🙏🏼❤️
Very cool ! I am definitely getting it asap 🥰Thank you Simon 🤗🤗🙏🙏💜💜💙💙
Hope you like it! 😍
@@the_hermits_cave Thank you Simon 🥰I am pretty sure it is going to be one of my new favs. 🤗🤗💜💜💙💙
I m not a fan of cartoonish decks.. Its so hard to find "the one".
What are you searching for, when looking for the one? What type of genre?
different decks for different people. I am more connected with decks that have many layers of meanings, complex deck, deep. decks with cards that have to say something more every time i use them. And this is what i try to achieve with my decks, where every details, colour, the connections between the elements have a meaning ad purpose. nothing is there for pure aesthetics reason :) looking for "the one" can be a challenging and interesting quest! The holy Grail of Tarot. have you tried Haindl tarot? Rachel Pollak wrote different books about it. It is a very deep deck.
@@AndreaAsteWorldI have not tried the Haindl Tarot. I will definitely look into that deck. Thank you mentioing it. I do have over 100 Tarot and Oracle decks. Ritual Tarot and Dream Vision Tarot are 2 of my newer favorites. However I carry and use a RWS tarot around everyday. I also love the Star Tarot and Crow Tarot.
@@the_hermits_caveGenra: I’m open to collage and I like some illustrated decks. I prefer RWS over Thoth and a blend between the 2 is even better. I’m looking for a closer match to a soul deck. I have tried many decks, I’ve lost count. I have certain cards that are sticking points for me: Magician, Hermit, Hanged Man, Strength, Death, Moon, Star, the suite of Pentacles can NOT be coins, and I could keep going. I feel like so many decks are close but are missing…something. Maybe I need to create a deck. I have started working one a deck 1 year ago. It’s still in process.
@@VinylWave11 When I need a very magical deck, i use an historical one; Marseille, usually. more complex to read, maybe, but I love it more. The first Book of Shadows (the Lost code of tarot) is a pips deck. and I want to create a new one. I love the geometrical patterns of the Moorish playing cards, ancestors of Tarot. :) do not give up your quest. everything precious is rare :) more difficult to find :)
What a cool deck! Love the vibe - so unique
Wow these are beautiful 😍
They really are! 😍
@@the_hermits_cave Just treated myself to an early birthday present 😊
He was interesting and lovely, I watched the interview but didn't comment there... he's fascinating ❤️ and what a beautiful voice! I can see him in his deck, just lovely. I plan to buy it.
Glad you enjoyed it! 😍
Thank you so much... I am glad you enjoyed our tarot conversation :) :) :) I wish to have a moe mild accent and a better pronunciation :) :) sometimes i say something for something else...ah, the marvel and mystery of English language!
Nice version of this deck.
I think so too! 😍
This is a fabulous deck 😊
It really is! 😍
Seen.
I’m not sure what this means, Robin?
@@the_hermits_cave I just wanted you to know that I watch all your videos regardless of whether I have an opinion to share or not. I always appreciate your efforts regardless of how I may or may not feel about a deck.
So cool to see a different interpretation of the thoth deck
I just received this deck in the mail today. I bought it because I liked it watching your walkthrough. I wasn't sure I would like it once I had it in my hands, and wow was I wrong! As you said, the production is incredible, and the art is unusual but wonderful and dreamy. The backs are one of my all-time favs, and the copper edging is really beautiful. The book has a lot of information and I'm looking forward to reading it tonight. Looking forward to your next video as always.
Thank you so much, enjoy your beautiful new deck 😍
OMG! I went and ordered this before your video was even finished. 😂 I adore The Tarot of Light and Shadow, so this is right up my alley! ❤
@@Curiopus enjoy! I’m sure you’ll love it 🥰
thank you so much for your support; this is my full time job, and as an independent artist, your support means a lot, it is very important! Publishers, too often, refuse works that do not fit in a box, as well as agents and promoters turn down artists who cannot fit their idea of what an artists should do: they do not like multidisciplinary artists :) so..thanks a lot for your support!
look at him he's tiny on that huge throne 😆 Simon I love it, little tiny emperor, exactly what what I would have done, that has made me chuckle. The colours are beautiful and love the art style. Thank you for sharing 💜
@@naomihewitt7119 🤣🤣🤣
It is so so funny: others wrote me something similar: they saw a little emperor... thus I guess the card has a new layer of meaning: 2 emperors sitting on the throne; the big one, the super ego-powerful emperor, all-mighty (despotic and tyrannic?), and the little one who reminds us that we are just humans... no matter the power, the wealth, the fame...we have to face the same challenge (amazing one!) to give a meaning to our life, to do something with the time we have! :) If I had seen the 2 emperors before publishing the deck, I would have changed the illustration to make the 2 emperors even more visible :) thanks for this amazing point of view!
@@AndreaAsteWorld I adore that concept
I'm a bit late to the game ... but ordered a copy of this interesting deck ... it's scheduled to arrive August 2nd !
Enjoy! It’s wonderful 😍
Our local bookstore recently brought in three copies of the Horror Tarot. I love my Pulp Tarot, so after seeing this video, I purchased HT this morning. I had no idea Todd Alcott created a follow-up deck. 🎉
@@tonyfournier5059 enjoy your new deck!
Just got me the pocket ones
Enjoy!
That final Pan character in the Throne of Pentacle is really compelling, I love that this is what really sealed the deal for you. I'm glad you showed a look at the book in here because I said I would after looking at the cards in my video, and then totally forgot! You also noticed the card with the interview spread on, which I didn't, lol. I think I'm going to do the interview spread this week, shall we do a little experiment and both do it and then compare our reeadings? I sat down for about an hour with this deck last night, making various piles/categorries of cards, reading through the beginning of the book, looking up the courts and aces meanings and breaking in the cardstock a bit with some riffle shuffling. I think I'm really going to love this deck. It was really lovely and relaxing to listen to your reaction to this deck, I'm pleased you like it.
I love it and had some great readings with it so far. Yes, let’s do that! I can give it a try at the weekend. I break up on Friday, I’m so ready! 😍
@@the_hermits_cave Yay! Cool. Keep me posted! x
