I have to move out of the country and I'm hoping that will do. I'm thinking about packing like this and place in a box and then inside the suitcase. I'm freaking out tho. 😅

I can attest to the effectiveness of this type of packing. After our first military move, I opened a dish pack to discover our KitchenAid mixer had been placed on top of our Lenox Holiday china. The china had been packed exactly as this video demonstrates and not a single piece was damaged.

Very good video. My biggest recommendation, those paper pads fit really nicely on a full or queen size bed. Save your knees, save your back. Also, most moving companies will have mirror cartons which can accommodate most household art and mirrors. Otherwise this guy nailed it .

It would be awesome depending on who you hire. Otherwise, get rid of anything you don't need, if you are local shuttle bulky weird items, pack heavy things in little boxes, light things in big boxes. Deal with the most difficult items first and pack around them. Look for used packing materials on local online sites. For the love of god and all things holy, do not use newspaper to wrap your dishes and trinkets, etc. It's ok if you don't have hardly any of that stuff, otherwise a baby unicorn doesn't quite die, but suffers. Oh, and if you are wealthy enough to have housekeepers...please do not have them pack. You don't want them packing anymore than you want me cleaning your house. Thanks.

You can in a bind reuse old boxes . Break the area that is glued and wrap the cardboard around, and tape. You will want the art or glass inside padded before you do this.

All of these packing china videos always recommend paper, but my issue is that it's far more expensive than actually using bubble wrap I've found. A single piece of paper is cheaper at $0.05 until your using several pieces between each layer when you could just use bubble wrap. I find that it's easier to reuse too. Maybe moving companies get the paper in bulk for dirt cheap, but if you're doing it yourself bubble wrap seems like the more practical option unfortunately.
