I very much lucked out on this part of the scenario .. I started three different 3-city clusters for growth at the start of this segment of the scenario. I added Steel to Dijon, Chemicals to Orleans and tools to Auxerre. By the time I got the population required to do those factories, Paris (which was in one of the 3-city clusters) was already high enough to accept tools and to accept steel to produce weapons for Strasbourg.
👍 🚄🚅🚆🚋🚄🚅🚆🚋 👍
Keep your eye on Zurich. I think it comes back at the end again
At 37:59, you set up the train as express instead of freight!
I don't think you getting olives across to Vienna and Presburg. Maybe just check.
Can we see the next game as transport fever 2 with hard mode..?? I'd love to see your take on it..
Thanks for another great video good sir 👍
you are correct Pressburg and Bratislava are the same city. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bratislava
I literally just had this for my birthday so gonna be watching all your vids
Enjoy. I think it's an excellent game. You are in for a treat.
@@Adekyn100 I'm gonna binge all your help vids today
👍
Thanks.
Hi Adekyn! Tsto clear up your confusion regarding Pressburg and why it doesn't appear in new task list: the capital city of Slovakia, Bratislava used to be known as Pressburg in the days of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. In the new task list, you will see Bratislava listed in the third task as one of the cities to send the white nougat to. That is Pressburg, so you can send it there and to Vienna and Budapest.
Thanks. Would have been nice if the developers were consistent in the city name usage, especially since it sounds like the city was called Pressburg at the time of game play.
RE1 veteran here: would it be more efficient to set up multiple 2 track gridirons at stations with 4 platforms?
Yes, but it would add the complexity of deciding which lines came into which pair of tracks and trying to balance the loads of all the lines. With the 4 track gridirons the station does the work for us. If we were going for large city growth (see scenario 14 of the base game) then we would make 2 track gridirons as needed. In most cases, 4 tracks seems to work well, more than 4 add a fair amount of delay.
Thanks for another great video good sir 👍. Glad to see you following your mantra
My pleasure. I'm following your advice.
@@Adekyn100 well, it was technically your advice to begin with, I just reminded you of it haha. But yeah I'm just a little behind you by this point of the scenario, but I've already started growing all the cities in that region and I'm only like 30k away from 200k by the time I opened the next regions up top. So I think this is where I might catch back up with you in the next set of tasks, we'll see. I always over build, I try really hard not to, but I can't help myself sometimes. I've got separate pax lines throughout and everything is connected with freight. But I know I have neglected Zurich more than I should have, but it's starting to be fixed for me. We'll see tomorrow where I end up.
@@stevegooch1776 i finish but only as a manager it takes my a couple tries to hit the top 600k score
@@viper04af very few are hitting 600k on this one, Adekyn gets 10th place for 633k it appears.. though he may delete this comment so it's not a spoiler for those that don't look that up. I'm on the next scenario at the moment, I want to finish before him this time.
Thank you
You're welcome
Love your video’s. Could you show the trains and terrain once in a while? Thanks!
Thanks. Glad you enjoy the videos. I do that kind of thing once in a blue moon, but two things hold that to a minimum. One, for me, it's boring. I know some folks really enjoy it, but different strokes for different folks. Two, I'm so task focused and concentrating on what to do next and what would be most instructive for viewers that I rarely think of "smelling the roses". Plus, I don't want the game running for even a second unless I am doing something useful to improve the rail network and reach objectives.
@@Adekyn100 Would like to see a ride along just to see the new overhead for the electricity while on the train! EDIT: Oops! Wrong series, but still! ;-p
At least now you can start making some more money! I learned in this scenario there's not much meat around. Look for cows nearby and set up extra meat if you can, it's a basic need for all cities. I finished my first run on this but my score was low, thought I did better :( Started a second run now and took a different appraoch: Set up passengers as electric but freight old-school. I think that way saves quite some money on the tracks and up-keep cost for the electic lines. (Yes, you do need supplies then, but I think its still cheaper)
Let me know how the Mountain freight lines work out for you. I thought about the same thing, but the traction / speed of those electric trains was hard to resist.
@@Adekyn100 In the mountains I indeed opted for the electric trains, at that point money was not an issue anymore. The problem I created because of that, I had to upgrade some of my old freightlines so they could handle electric trains as well because of some tasks. It was a real pain to get that 1 line with liquor working. Took me about 30 minutes to find the last missing piece, without that, the train simply would not go. After this run, I ended up just behind you on the scoreboard, 625K
Hi, I''m Hungarian, Budapest is our capital, so the pronounciation of Kecskemet is like: catch-che-mate and Debrecen is like: Deb-rhe-tzen Cool game btw :)
Glad you enjoy the game. I butcher the city names, it's just who I am.
The scenario gets much easier after you reach Budapest
I thought it stayed fairly consistent all the way through.
Research bonuses do affect Bonds and amounts.
True.
👍
Thanks.
I replayed the episode and ran into a problem with nougat. After the research it shows me a message under the research that there is an error loading technical building. Have no idea what to do now. Tried to see if I can maybe reinstall the DLC, but there is not really an option.
That is a defect introduced by the update that happened when the High Voltage DLC came out. You will have to wait for a patch.
@@hansielategan969 I have a post on steam bug reports on it, I've sent them my bug report too, but the more that do it probably help.
Thanks for another great video good sir 👍
No problem 👍
just wait till it hits 40k
Sorry. Wait for what? I am many videos ahead of this right now, so I don't know what you mean.
Looking forward to an optimizing episode!
Shouldn't be long.
Scenario may be able to change the amount of Loan to Company value--so maybe it's 15% here? Forget where you can read the tooltip on it...
Doubt it, but possible.
There are research items in the tech tree that increase the amount of bonds you can get. Since its a later start date I wouldnt be surprised if some were already unlocked.
Wow! Adekyn will run electric forever more, so he NEVER forgets a supply tower ever again! ;-) (But as you said, the new thing will be to see how many un-needed towers don't get torn down after being placed...)
Once you go electric there is no going back.
Nice! Thank You. Se You Next Part.🚝🚞🚋
Ok. Thanks
59:00 hi Adekyn, how do you calculate how many trains are needed between two points?
I would recommend two of my fundamentals videos. kzread.info/dash/bejne/mWV_kpqjdJW8gbg.html and kzread.info/dash/bejne/YqJrmK9-n7ypXdo.html

Very glad to hear some interest in businesses :) The forums write them off as useless but they seem like such a good bond-growth tool!
They appear to be great at increasing company value. Need some experimentation.
I have been playing this and am probably about half way through. I must admit I did not bother with seperate passenger and freight stations as the demand is so low from the other stations initially and it hasnt seemed to hamper me, at least at first. I also ran my Winterthurer line around the mountain and now wish I went through it! Will be interesting to see how the scenario develops moving forward. I put my warehouse in Zurich and went with Cheese in Wint. I bought the meat in Ruti so I could expand as soon as it hit 20k Also your bonds you went with bottom and top for about 800k - I went with middle and top and got about 1.1m, maybe I took them out at a different time but not sure you made as much as you could've there.
When I took my bonds, had I taken the middle bond first it would have put me over 10% so a second bond would not have been available.
I was taken aback by how low my 2nd Qtr finances were, so of course I immediately payed off my debt and went into a much debt as possible 😊
Good man.
Hopefully it was only Bronchitis and not something worse. We are getting too old for these things Adekyn. Healing is not as fast as it used to be 😊
Acute bronchitis - no big deal. We are getting too old for a lot of things.
Great to see you again Adekyn in RE2 - I wasn't even aware of this new DLC thanks to you sir!
Good to be back. So far I'm really liking the new DLC.
I'm pretty sure you had fixed it, but I think it was your freight from Vienna to Budapest that I had mentioned earlier.
I did eventually, not even sure which episode.
about time
No, it's about Railway Empire 2. I cover time in a different series.
@@Adekyn100 🤣
If you just click the track 3 times with your multi signal button, it will reset your blocks without having to clear them first.
Yep.
Thanks for another great video good sir 👍.
My pleasure.
Oh dear...you ran the normal express line up the Carpathian Mountains from Bucharest! It only has 62% tractive power, so it's going to take VERY long and hold up anything else you run on there. Wonder how much a penalty you would take if you used the Taff instead? Or might even need your freight engine just to traverse it in a reasonable amount of time... Pretty sure _I_ would just tell the passengers to deal with a freight loco! Kinda wish for ANY of the express things (and these new luxury) they would be total REVENUE based and NOT total 'passengers moved' based. So then you MIGHT have a bit of an incentive to try and make a 'better' price on the luxury run instead of always just setting it to minimum which is boring. (Same problem that the tourists had.) You need to make a million dollars? ONE passenger who pays a million or a MILLION who pay a dollar!
I didn't watch it closely but I don't recall any great delays on the big mountain track caused by the passenger train which is carrying a much lighter load than a freight train would be hauling. I agree that the way they did the luxury line requirements makes it a bit too obvious how to get it done quickly.
@@Adekyn100 Oh right--forgot they are faster by default. Then thinking about it...they will jam up a line going up the steep grades; but as soon as they crest, they will burst ahead and make it seem like they are all spread out as the freight behind can't keep up. So the other way, if the freight gets on first, it'll cruise up the grade while the PAX struggles, and the PAX then might catch up and get slowed by the FRT. Hmmm...
good sir - you have to check the box in EACH track build - you don't have it checked on the build 2 that you used- that is why overhead is missing
Thanks. That makes sense and explains what happened.
i'm still fighting my my on warehouse vs run full - run full is so much easier and forget it maybe bump up trains, but warehouse is easier later - have new city to grow ? just send to existing warehouse........ I Think i might do hybrid - if factory demands a raw - direct run full line - warehouse is for everything else
What you describe as hybrid is what I've always done in Railway Empire and any RE2 where I use warehouses. Direct raw materials to a producing city and other raw materials to warehouses.
@@viper04af I've had better luck lately running the one train one city method, and put warehouses in the rural stations to grab produced goods from cities and then have no city to city lines for freight. I've also ran some raw in depending how far away the raw is to the warehouses too when necessary.keeps my cities clear of the messes I always get running city to city
@@stevegooch1776 interesting, so you have a train ship produced good to warehouse, and then bring back what needs? No direct city freight lines correct?
@@viper04af yeah it works fairly well that way and allow you to spread out your goods a little better. Now it doesn't work so well trying to feed huge cities
no sir no supplies needed :) its nice lol
Yes, it is.
If you click on the "I" in the top left, you can turn on "Train Usage" and that transforms all the trains in the zoomed out view to either green/yellow/red. This is somewhat useful to observe train usage, but it's more useful as an observer on KZread to see the train movements because the default white color completely blends in with the white track..!
not helpful if you are color blind like me lol :(
I will try to keep that in mind next time I need to do some trainspotting from on high.
I also started this one this afternoon and is at the third bunch of tasks. Careful with your money as you are going to unlock three regions in the next two sets of tasks
We always need lots of money.
