Is it because its a tight git 😜😂🤣 hehe only joking 😅
"Jesus Christ, they've done it,"
Denby street was the Chinese warehouse spot excellent duck from a traditional cart
View To A Kill, saw it there in The Gaumont in July 1985. Great cinema! Saw Star Wars (first one) in early 1978 when they did a re-run of it. It was always sold out on the first showing with queues right round the block to get in. Also saw Ghostbusters there in June 1984.
No3. Now. That's unknown!!!!
No2 is fascinating. I was amazed when I found it a few years ago.
No1 isn't a secret. It's just badly incorporated
I am glad I discovered the first secret place on my own deslite living in Sheffield for under a year
Soulless with history and character gone. This basically could be any city now. It's more like a bling chattel farm. NPC's will love this.
Black Swan Walk isn’t a secret it just doesn’t go anywhere, and it’s where the junkies used to hang out at night so most people were warned against going there. And Jew Lane was a common shortcut when I was a teenager, I wouldn’t go down there at night though for obvious reasons. The only ‘secret’ is the river walk, but that’s not so much a secret as just fairly new.
I wonder where all the homeless are going to kip?
Eh?
Gunmetal YETI intro was made here...
It's too bad this city got nuked. I think the ground zero was the Tinsley Viaduct. Ruth survived for a while, but she moved to Buxton.
Nice comments on this vid i think the tram has spoiled west street though but that's Sheffield council for you
We don't do Sheffield Council moaning on here - save that for the moaning facebook groups
Bet you don't know where the rhubarb mines are...
The fish tank was a meeting place for thousands of people.
I was baptised at St Mary’s and my Gran lived on Midland St. This area has totally changed from the 70’s when I knew it. I think there was a kids play area somewhere there with swings, rocking horse and slide - all on to tarmac! It paid not to fall off in those days. Wasn’t there a car showroom there and a small factory building to do with work for less able people?
I’ve seen pictures of it when it was built and it looked great! But all I remember in the late 70’s and 80’s was the graffiti and the smell of wee.
A beautiful place in its day with an absolutely brilliant little record shop. Funny to see how all the different types of fish all vanished as the carp got fatter. I sang Christmas Carols with my school in there one year, totally unique place and sorely missed (OK it was covered in graffiti and stank of piss at the end but don't knock the nostalgia eh?)
My partner lives in Sheffield
We're is the the home is for people who been homeless it's called the maze
Not sure sorry
These people are prosperous, they have good clothes that cover their whole body, otherwise people in most areas are so poor that they cannot afford to buy good clothes and they go around in a turtleneck and a vest.
Something else the council destroyed!
We don't 'do' moaning about the council on this channel save that for the many Sheffield facebook groups where people sit and moan endlessly
@SheffieldVideos You put the video into the public domain, which means I'm entitled to my opinion. If you don't want different points of view, don't post the videos!
Very impressive. I wonder if they offer any proper Yorkshire food.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ 30:08 30:08 30:08
Secret?
Yep!
i was stood up more than once waiting for some girl i'd met in Baileys or Top Rank the night before
Noticed a lot of things that aren't there anymore, hole in road, egg boxes, police
Broad Ln
Sheffield feels like it’s been invaded by a load of Chinese restaurants, they are everywhere
There's not that many?
Great Chicken burger at Yum Yums. 👍
I still live here not too bad nice enough place to go for a walk
@1:47.....The wipers on the bus knew what was coming....!
Lived In Edward street just behind west street. Past by this street almost every single day In 2009. I only recognise the Cavendish, Tesco and nandos. Everything else seems to have changed. Great lively street at night 👍
It's really different now 2024
The first one is not a secret 🤷🏻♀️
How do you KNOW though? 😉
.....and then towards the end of your video, you end up filming yourself going back up West Street!
ok
I never watched long enough to see if you bothered to pass by the city's two wonderful cathedrals and the former Sheffield City Polytechnic on Pond Street (it's now one of the sites of Sheffield Hallam University).....right across the road from the main train station and bus station serving the city....there's much more to the city centre of the fourth biggest city in England than what you've shown here. From what I recall of the centre of Sheffield, you've done little more than go around in circles within a very limited radius.
Ok
Must of been recorded early 2018 or before as tacco locco never really opened and is now replaced by desi cafe
I live in this area. Please don't go walking down the alleyway. It's a hideout for undesirables, and there's no alternative exit if you get cornered by anyone.
I have been down all 3 of these.
No trees? A lot of road noise ( cars) - that would drive me mad. II love trees and hate car noise.
Imagine how beautiful the world would be if we went away
Is there enough to see and do in Sheffield for 3 days ? Over the past year and half, my wife and have had several short city breaks which have included London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, York and Liverpool, with three more repeat trips already planned for this year. I am trying to think of somewhere new to visit, for late in the year, or even early 2025, hence this question. Although my wife likes the shops, we both enjoy seeing new places of interest, such as museums, cathedrals etc. Birmingham, Chester, Cardiff, Sheffield, Aberdeen, Inverness are other possibilities.
Used to be a great night out down West Street back in the day. Had a friend who worked in Varsity who'd always sneak us a couple of free shots. Good times.
what ugly architecture.
It aligns to a lot of modern Sheffield then - mass-fabricated, sleek and soulless, with very little craft.
I bought my first record from the record shop that was in the hole in the road. The record shop moved into castle market near the top of the ramp when the hole in the road closed. Talk about going backwards. We don’t have the policing that we used to have and so the bad elements move in.
No it used to be a curry restaurant
I used to live in bow house, west street for a year an a half. I missed those days and i hope to go back there soon. 💚
I was born in Handsworth, Sheffield in 1949; I worked in the Employment Exchange on West Street in 1972 which isn't there anymore, but I don't know it that well because I moved overseas in the late 1970's.
