  Hey, It depends on your research and course workload and your guide. Sometimes even if the guide allows the student for internship, they prefer not to go as it might hamper their placement preparation or research or vice-versa. So it depends on many factors! Also in past, MTech students were allowed to take up internship then there were few years when they were not allowed. I think it depends on year on year and placement committee and department decisions.
