Definitely. Understanding the deck is not enough for DM players to win against the meta. We need to understand our opponent too.

Hello, nice guide. :) I'm asking if you can summon Master of Chaos without a Fusion Spell Card. (But i assume you need a "Magic of the Chaos" in your Hand?) Because I think that when I special summoned "Timaeus the Dragon" I was able to do a Fusion Summon to "The Dark Magicians" in the same turn. But I'm not entirely sure. Most of the time I go straight to the Chaos Angel with the "Magician's Staff" and a "Dark Magician" so that I'm a bit protected for the next turn :D
You can summon Master of Chaos with Timaeus the Dragon but you'll need DM and Chaos ritual monster. the general rule is that you can't fuse monsters without a card that enables the fusion summon. There are exceptions but not for DM fusions.
Really nice video! I don't really play master duel that much, but even as a TCG player, your playstyle helps a LOT! You use the DM cards like breathing or something, your thought process is amazing!

It's really up to you and your playstyle. Most have gone with Summon Limit, but I've gone with Triple Tactics.

Nice video. What if we have to go second and opponents already set up lots of negate. And, how we get magician the dragon knight out?
When going second, we really need to time our hand traps well. MaxC and a well timed Ash can prevent your opponent from completing their end boards. Dragon Knight can be summoned using Imduk although, I don't really rely on him much anymore.

Wel all do bro. They are natural enemies of the DM archetype. Cards that work well against both of them: - Skill Drain - Evenly Matched - There Can Only Be One None of those cards are searchable so you need to bring out DM's draw power. Hope this helps my guy!

Can you play dark magician with branded
Cheers for the suggestion bro! I've been testing but haven't come up with something I'm happy with. The branded engine is so huge that DM plays a supporting role rather than a main one. Once I find something spicy, you guys will be the first to know!
if it's okay to ask what's the purpose of the monster evening trap cards and non dark magician extra deck monsters ? (i'm new to this game so i don't know the goal of a lot of cards)
You can ask anytime bro! I'm not sure what you mean by 'monster evening' trap cards but in regard to the extra deck, the non dark magician monsters are there because they support the archetype very well. For example, Artmemis. It's main purpose, after summoned using Magician's Rod, is to be tributed so Rod can come back to your hand from the GY. It can be a little overwhelming at first but if you like Dark Magician, this channel will help you bring out it's full potential.
thank you ! i'll have to take more time to understand the engine - as for trap cards i was wondering about ones like gozen match and rivalry of warlords where they limit or even out what kind of cards both players can use
With generic cards (cards that don't belong to a specific archetype), they can be more effective than DM specific cards. Not all DM support is effective and in which case, you need to save the deck space for other cards which serve the deck better.

@@Ddoge2024 oh yea man. Timestar Magician can search ANY Dark Spellcaster so I can get anything I need depending on the situation as an example. I still have some things to work out, but it can be pretty solid. Def wouldn't mind showing you sometime.

Summon Limit is the obvious choice, but I'm testing an alternative at the moment. Will keep you posted on a future upload!

Definitely first bro. Going second not ideal since meta boards can set up so many interruptions. DM has decent draw power. With the right hands and no interruptions, we could mill out close to 10 additional cards from our deck excluding opening hand.
@@Ddoge2024 Thanks! I’m learning a lot from watching you play. Your style is different then most people’s content on DM and the combos. How come you like to grab Soul Servant off Rod as your go to? For additional draw power?
Soul Servant being a quickplay card offers so much utility. Other than draw power, you can really set up plays depending on the nature of the duel. Sometimes I use it to help bring out Chaos Angel and other times, it's to simply recycle Rod from the GY.
@@Ddoge2024 Most people just use Rod to search exactly what they want like Salvation etc etc but you’re the first i’ve seen utilize Rod in different ways and even set it and use during opponents turn. Can you give me more tips for using Soul Servant. I’ve watched all your vids but should have written notes on your combos or gameplay because I didn’t retain it all
Other than using it for draw power and recycling rod, it can also be used to top deck DM cards in the GY. This allows you to get away with one copy of Eternal Soul and save deck space for other cards. It's funny that you mention gameplay with notes because I've been working on some guides. First one will drop this week!
