    I started Xidex 3 weeks ago….I think I am getting relief because I read a whole article this morning before realizing I could read a whole article…haven’t done that in years. As well as the discomfort I have intense sever light sensitivity. Watery eyes…just a mess…praying this works. My eye are still really dry when I wake up at night, but I want to say I just feel brighter and more open with my eyes. Fingers crossed because I have been I. Misery for years with this condition and regular over the counter do nothing for relief.

    Your dry eye experience sounds very similar to mine. Xiidra was life changing for me. My eyes started feeling better the first day. I’ve been on it for 3 years now and it still works well. With the Xiidra savings card and my insurance I pay 0 dollars.

    I dislike this drug. It's outrageously expensive beyond belief, and I've had modest results. It burns like crazy on application. It itches and keeps me blurry for up to two hours. It's difficult to apply as you must tap it to get solution in proper area of applicator and while tapping some fluid usually flies out. It's designed I think for two drops twice a day and if you miss even a half drop you have to break into another dispenser to get a dose. Why they can't give and extra drop is beyond my understanding considering the cost of these drops. I would love so much, so very much to be able to say this was a miracle, or even came close to fixing my problem, but it hasn't after four months of daily use. I also apply the warm eye packs twice a day to help with blepharitis, but still have some eye pain and discomfort. It does help some, but far from a fix or cure, and I have no other health or eye issues to complicate things. Anyone, please let me know what I can do and thx so much.

    I was suffering so badly from Ocular Rosacea due to my Rosacea worsening years ago. I can literally remember the day I saw Dr. Toyos on a news channel talking about this new procedure. I was ready to book an appt ASAP and fly to his office when I found a doctor in New York that was just “trained” by Dr. Toyos an Eye Surgeon named Dr. Bloom and I was the first patient he ever treated and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. Dr. Toyos and Dr. Bloom saved my life!

    It could, but you would be without eyebrows, for that it is complemented with other heat treatments. Although it is a never-ending thing, they are covered again, it is very difficult to eliminate the bacteria that lodge in the glands.

  • @outlawzqc
    @outlawzqc3 жыл бұрын

    IPL seems to be used primarily if you have rosacea thats causing your MGD/dry eyes. Lipiflow is great for unclogging and draining the glands, but if you have a condition that makes your eyelids margin always swollen and painful IPL might be better in long term. Ive had lipiflow done 3 times since 2017. After the first one I was relieved for almost 2 years, then it came back in September 2019, I had it done again around Christmas 2019, I was symptoms-free for 11 months, then it all came back in November 2020 and Ive been stuck with this crap ever since. Lipiflow didnt do anything I constantly have a burning sensation around the bottom eyelids and the eyes, I can feel oil coming out when I blink hard or do warm compresses but generally my eyes dont seem to moisturize themselves properly. My eye doctor has been suggesting me IPL every since the first time I met him and he instantly noticed my rosacea,something I had never heard of since its so mild. Yet I insisted for a Lipiflow since it worked the first time at the first clinic I went back in 2017. The lipiflow did work again that time. But this year, like I said, it hasnt done anything, so I really believe now after watching Dr. Toyos videos as well, that IPL is truly the answer behind my problem and the real solution to rosacea. I hope so at least... My first treatment is tomorrow, I honestly cant wait. Ill make sure to talk to my doctor first and speak about what I just heard in this video see if hes aware of most of this (without trying to be arrogant).

    Hello Doctor Toyos , i have no idea if you will answer but i have simple question. IF you have a patient with rosacea on face and MGD do you treat just around eyes or the full face ? if you get rid of most of rosacea around eyes and ears then the face will look uneven with the rest ? or maybe seetings for MGD dont do much on the skin ? Thanks for all your studies etc , i have also bad MGD and im looking for good ipl treatment im in asia right now and found a doctor in BKK using the M22.

  • @CMoney007

    @@nighthawk_zl1 Yes the same thing happens to me. I always make sure to avoid any light source because you become very light sensitive and it makes the burning worse. Always apply in a dark room. On day 12 I noticed the improvement and my eyes felt better than they had in a long time.... For the people that likes to complain you have to give your eyes a few days to adjust,But I'm not saying it won't sting at all when you put the drops in your eyes...But give it a few weeks,And maybe your eyes will feel as good as mine did after 12 days....Take Care

    Doc...... Should have me in your office drawing blood, spinning specimens(s) and aliquot the plasma/plts for your PRP Inj area. Not saying the DR/Nurse/MA/PCT/RPT who drew you blood was or did wrong atall. The tourniquet traps blood in the area below its placement as your aware. He should've removed the tourniquet and continued with the drawing. Depending on length its been on, it can rupture the pltls, creating not the best viable product..... If no more blood is coming, release tourniquet, have someone assist on placement unless a winged infusion set is on use! 95 % of the time this work, does have some exceptions: Geriatrics & bad veins, dehydration or all around just bad veins. Other than a patient(s) w/systemic issues, no quality veins etc would be other issue. Could also be a list of things such as angle, too deep, against wall of vein, collapse etc. Great informative video though. Thank you 🙂

    I have severe Sjogren’s. The medication only stung me the first couple of nights, then after that it didn’t really bother me. It stings because of your dry eye, but the more you use it, the less dry I you have, so it doesn’t sting as much, because you start to have tears to protect your eyes from the burning.

  • @corteltube

    If the small amount of burn bothers you…then maybe your dry eye is not serious enough to bother. My pain is so bad every single day that the burn from the drops are nothing co pared to be g able for the forst time in a decade being able to read an entire article or recipe without having g to close my eyes from the irritation. I am finding relief…but them I have been diligent for three weeks, and I think it’s paying off…the burn or the taste in the tel at is nothing compared to the real struggle of severe dry eye. I hope others are not discouraged from at least trying it if the truly have this horrible condition. I think this medication is only indicated for those who are severe with the condition.
