Tent looks good. My mate is looking at a new tent and sent him the vid 👍Might give this a try tonight. Was originally planning on Killantringan Bay but now looks a bit cloudy down that way and a better chance of a sunset at Dunure with zero chance of good weather tomorrow.Plus would rather do a 10-15 min walk back in the rain instead of a 2.5 mile walk back to Portpatrick. We're the cows near we're you pitched?
Cracking video mate. The spot looks lovely 😊
Great Video Andrew. I am liking the look of this tent more and more, the fly gets quite close to the floor and I also agree it could do quite well in rougher/winter weather, I am looking forward to that.
안녕하세요. 영상 잘 봤습니다.
Enjoyed this outing, the Vango looks interesting and your photography sets a very pleasant setting, thank you until the next trip, take care.
Beautiful spot matey. Great video 👍 Loved the footage with the bats. I have been meaning to ask, Do you still have your kayak ? I remember a kayak camping trip you did on loch lomond that was a great video. Would love to see you do something like that again.
Really nice video. I really like the look of the Vango Andrew, I've just bought a goshawk2, will have ro get it onto gumtree asap and put the money towards one of these.
Nice review, nice wee spot, a wee HOVERair perhaps?
I like Oceant blue
The sling fin has thinner poles, a thicker fly, and is 4 inches wider. The stone glacier has a thinner fly, narrower to make it a 1 person and thicker poles as it’s made for high elevation deep winter hunting. Otherwise the color is all that’s different.
And because of these differences, mainly in the poles, the sling fin is like a half pound lighter
Any chance you might try out the Robens Sprinter 2 tunnel tent? Looks decent but there’s no reviews on KZread.
Would prolly work quite well on the PCT, particularly on the Lake Tahoe Rim Trail or in the Sierra Nevada. Perhaps not so much the AT or the WHW or SUW.
Very nice review video 🌞👍🤗
I say esta no bueno.
Have they asked for it back yet? But well done for showing good professionalism in going over it thoroughly and finding......meh.
Not for me, thanks.
velcro..? -> ultimate deal breaker!
agreed !
It's a Rip off.
I really like the pockets, not enough tents have gear lofts, but some odd design mistakes. However cheap it may be though, if it's going to get wet inside (which it looks like it will due to the lack of tie out points) it's basically not fit for purpose. Real shame, as I do like a lot of OneTigris gear, their synthetic quilt is probably my favourite bit of camping gear.
agreed !
I think that will bend in half in the wind
Yep I think so !
It's an absolutely awful big Agnes tiger wall or if generous the copper spur hv ul1, which in itself isn't much use 😂 Nah, roll the dice again Andrew 😁
agreed !
Don't like the inner and outer touching at all. Seems like a hurried make to throw out there to the market but as you rightly say there's better available at same price point. Thanks for sharing. Bushyboy Oz.
agreed !
ooft, wouldnae buy it for half that price. i like some of what they do but they arent great at tents.
agreed !
agreed !
1rd 😂 Looks like junk mate. It'll die up here in our weather. Good space tbf.
Hello, is there a detailed video introduction to the assembly of this tent? I bought one but don't know how to assemble it? Hope to get your help, thank you very much🙏
It's really easy just feed the poles in when standing at the door, velcro a point nearest the door frame on each pole then jump inside and do the centre apex velcro, then the rest. The porch is pretty simple though the thin guy lines do tend to get tangled with each other A
Thank you so much❤
Great review! Does a long sleeping pad fit in there?
Good question i think a mummy shape will but oversize rectangular pads won't looking a it. A
Easily I'd say.
Thanks guys :))
Good looking tent that Andy. Looks similar to ma Lanshan Pyramid Tent. They tents are discontinued now. You had it out again since your school night escape? Is your 4 season Lanshan 1 inner just the regular inner or plus? Might look into purchasing this tent & possibly use both ma Lanshan 1 inners. Cheers. 👍
I sold it to be honest, im still a but 'jury out' on the time and space it takes to pitch 'mid' shelters though the solomid does really tempt me again .
Bought 2nd hand, just tried out on a dry nice trip. Found everything to be spot on as your comments. Did the 'HAKA' and definitely much, Much stronger. Although I dont really use walking poles and a hack for a new tent aint ideal.. I'll soldier on & see if i'm gonna keep?? Lots of pluses, but clearly not the same quality of materials of a certain other company.. 😂
Great content as usual Andy, thanks for sharing. 😊
Glad you enjoyed it
Some ads are describing this as the Asta gear Duomid,is it anything like the MLD Duomid?
not as robust for sure
Just got a slightly 90s Westwind 2 at a thift store of 9 dollars. Had a camping permit from 1999 on the flysheet tie. Shock cord a little stretched out but other wise a 9 out of 10.
wow, nice deal
I used mine last night for the first time, up the top of a hill in Derbyshire. I thought the relatively low height was going to be an issue from when I had it up in the garden, it really wasn’t at all though - and I enjoyed my time inside of it. Spacious but cosy is how I’d describe it, almost feels like the low dens we used to make as kids…👍🏻 It’s a keeper!! 😎
Good to way to describe it, im going to try it again this weekend solo to see how I get on with it hopefully in decent winds, A
Can you get a rucksake on porch area??
standing up against the inner maybe from memory but i quite like to empty mine and tuck it under my mat at the head or foot end.
Worth a wee punt.. I'm in🙌 cheers
themarest vespa quilt.not cheap though 🐶👍
Just taken delivery of mine today.. I put it straight up in the back garden and was very impressed with its appearance and colour, I did however connect the inner the wrong way round, easy fix that one! 😄 I then went to get my tape of truth to do my own measurements, the width was bang on at 130cm, the length came in at 5cm more than stated at 220cm, however the height was a full 8cm lower than it should have been!! I measured that in the centre at just 87cm, or 97cm if you drop the inner tent…way off the stated 95cm on the inner that it should have been? 🤷🏻♂️ I’m only 5-10” and even I can’t sit up with a straight back inside of it whilst sitting on the ground - never mind on an inflatable mat! I still do really like it though, it should shed the strong wind with ease. Mine only weighs 1,780g as I always keep my own peg bag separate from the packed shelter. Great small pack size too. 👍🏻 Looking forward to trying it out in the wild this weekend. 🏕️
weird, mine doesn't feel that low, i wonder if theres big tolerances in size, try shortening the elastics holding the inner, i did three and it makes it much nicer inside.
@@AndrewParkOutdoors Yeah I did that with the elastic toggles to try and make a little more usable height/room inside! It did make a bit of difference actually, it then went from 86.5cm - to 88cm on the inner height after that. 😄 I really like it, can’t wait to get out in it again over the weekend. 👍🏻 First time I’ve had a tent with a red ground sheet too, which is another nice touch for spotting ticks if they get inside this shelter, (as two did a few camps ago in another tent of mine) you literally got no chance of spotting them on a black tent floor…
Being paid for a review or buying the product yourself would almost guarantee a bias review. If its been given for free then there isn't much incentive to not be honest about it. People who buy stuff usually want to justify their expenditure, so it'll be "great" regardless.
genuinely one of the better tents out there.
Hi Andy, agree it's a great wee tent. In the video I think I saw you using a Katadyn Befree filter, if so what hard bottle were you using instead of the collapsible one?
I burst two of the standard bottles, leaks where it meets the top part. I managed to get a Hydrapak collapsible bottle which fits the filter perfectly.
@@AndrewParkOutdoorscheers I've not had any leaks but just find the standard bottle is useless in a bottle holder. I'll have a look at the one you've got, many thanks 👍
Very helpful video Andrew.... It tells me what I needed to know.... Do I assume from your experience with the Vango tunnel tent that all tunnel tents would have had the water ingress like the Vango seemed to do?
Hi, no I wouldn't expect any Vango tents to leak in my experience. All nicely taped and suitable for wet European conditions.
Open V towards the tent...Structurally there is more resistance. There is much less resistance the other way i.e. bow of a ship. This should not even be a debate.
Morally, I could not bring myself to buy anything from those people.
Expand ?
@@AndrewParkOutdoors Their woke agenda....20% off if you take the 1hour online course, it was all over the news.
nice one, what did you use to add that tie point to the middle of the fly? looks really solid
I used pull outs from Wild Sky Gear, if i recall correctly think it was just Silnet i used to glue them on. A
I’ve noticed there is no real talk about the room for a tall person I’m 188cm and use a 100mm thick mattress so would love to know how this would suit a tall person as I looking for a tent for Iceland
Solo ? If so sleep diagonally and you should find it ideal.
Andrew, great review of this tent, thank you, always appreciated. Happy Hiking!
From what I've seen, it seems Nortent might want to do a bit better on testing/R&D.
Great review but please don’t forget that we still use Imperial measurements in the UK. So it would be useful to have dimensions in feet and inches! After all you don’t go up to the bar and order a half litre or best bitter do you ?
You got dirty all your kitchen. Your wife is gonna kill you.😱
Be wary, I purchased one and it’s definitely not a 4 season tent. The pole snapped in an estimated 40 to 50 MPH gust and in driving rain the fabric leaked. I moved on to Hilleberg.
I like it
Looks a great tent and a great review, I am a huge fan of Vango f10’s definitely quality manufacturer and great design put MSR leaky and fragile tents to shame
