  I agree, that is defenently for the pros, and experienced boxers. When i was learning about this same concept we called it "anti-technque" , just the word we used for that. When we break the rules on purpose for a reason it is a strategy, when we are not aware of the fundamental rule we break is when it is a mistake. There is always times when im teaching a beginner the fundamentals and they ask about why the pros do the opposite of what im teaching this is what i got to explain.
