    I am always only competing with myself. My guitar teachers show me a lot about rhythm, music notation, technique, fingering, among many other important things, and they might be nice enough to say I’m probably fairly close to intermediate since I can’t really play solos. Honestly it’s been hard being band-less because I can’t practice the way I want, though I did have the chance to produce my song Bled, which I posted on KZread for free. I am absolutely a beginner with eight-string, but practiced a lot on my seven-string guitar before it got stolen out of my home with my other six-string Stratocaster and amp, forcing me to start over. So beginner mode it is. In reading tab, I can play metal songs by bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Megadeth, System of a Down, as well as more low-key songs by Blue Oyster Cult and Pink Floyd, which I can’t post due to copyright. But really I’m not worried about it, I’ve got five years of musical work under my belt on KZread and I’m really proud of it, even though it can be hard at times to see the bigger picture. I’d be curious about your own interests given your experience and interest. But I have no problem practicing since it’s always a challenge to step outside of an abstract Cartesian mode. Which is where I’m normally at. Thanks for listening. This song is still incomplete.

  • @Phoenix_Rises
    @Phoenix_RisesАй бұрын

    Yes, I wrote it. I don’t know the technical terms for what I’m doing since it is free verse, but I am creating my own beat and rhythm by feeling the impact of the words themselves and choosing emotionally charged words to rhyme. It’s a style I’ve developed that uses a lot of consonance and pays attention to how it sounds and feels. So the rhyme scheme fluctuates in my poems, I choose the rhythm. I appreciate you listening.

    I forgot to ask, what are your feelings about Tad Williams? How about Vernor Vinge? Vernor is my absolute favorite sci-fi writers, and just an amazing scientific thinker, all around.

  • @Phoenix_Rises
    @Phoenix_RisesАй бұрын

    I am embarrassed to say I’ve read neither author, but they are certainly on my list now! My emphasis for a while was on classic and modern literature, but I turned to sci-fI partly because I like the approach to storytelling; it often feels very existential, philosophical, and speculative. I think PKD stands out to me because his books are so adventurous and explore the deep unconscious mind. For such reasons I actually like unexpected authors such as Carl Jung, who delve deep into the human psyche. But I did start reading Wheel of Time a few years ago and that one appeals to me. I also hope to read more of Roger Zelazny, Aldous Huxley, Michael Crichton, and Isaac Asimov. With the movie Dune I’ve also been interested in that series more (still haven’t finished book one). I hope to continue to put out content without the fluff and huff. I have a lot of fun making videos and I hope to improve. It’s all DIY for me. Thanks for watching and commenting. Hope to hear from you more often.

    @@Phoenix_Rises You have a lot of authors on your list, me oh my. When it comes to Tad Williams, I think his greatest strength is in creating both engaging characters with well thought out motivations and backgrounds, as well as an amazing ability with world-building. He is a fantasy author, primarily, but his books are immensely engaging and approachable. The only issue is, it's really hard to do anything else as you'll likely find yourself on the rather addicted side to his books. It's a blessing and a curse. As for Vernor Vinge, he's well-known for his philosophical and futurist views, I believe also being named as the origin for the idea of the technological singularity. As one would imagine from such a science-based writer, many of his stories are considered hard sci-fi, emphasizing not just the world's, planets, and societies created within his book, but a near complete description of how they function, making them utterly believables, as well as conceivable as an outcome for even our own futures. Very engaging and rewarding reading.

    @@Phoenix_Rises If you feel it's likely that you might not pick up the Dune books again, being compelled against it by that unnameable force that pushes one away from the things they feel they meant to do, but never seemed to come back to, one can find audiobooks of all of the Dune books on KZread. I'm not a HUGE fan of audiobooks over actually reading them, there's just something about the way written words hit the mind versus the way other forms of media do, however, I've found that Frank Herbert's writing style is fantastic at drawing so many facets of his worlds into a kind of reality that one can almost completely visualize. Even as audiobooks, his writings are very enjoyable. I have turned them on, played a "Black screen" video at the same time, to conserve power, then laid back, closed my eyes, and just let the stories bloom in my mind as the narrator reads the story to me. It's almost meditative in its effect.

  • @Phoenix_Rises

    Love that! I’ve been listening to more audiobooks on my commute to work. Right now been listening to The Sun Also Rises by Hemingway. I think I might enjoy the Dune audiobooks too. Fascinating suggestions! I’m always looking for an addictive read. I’ve been enjoying the journey expanding my library and checking things out. I didn’t know Vinge was credited with the singularity. Sometimes tenable hypotheses actually start in the domain of the speculative. I first became aware of that idea when reading about and exploring the ideas of Ray Kurzweil. I do think futurism is a common theme in sci-fi. I hope to read more! I appreciate your in-depth thoughts!

    as for your quest to understand love, love is a label of somthing we find though expiriencing specific things and it gets it's meaning from perspecttive and is physically supported by eachotehr. Love has no entropy, love is metaphysical but physically it can be reborn but with symbolism. Love is the illution of physical sensations and metaphysical meaning creating order in such a intimate, personal and prfound way that this is why the concept of marrage exists, the concept of marrage has been defiled by religeon and exploited by the govorment, but purest and most symbolic meaning of marrage is derived from Alchemy (wich is work between the physical and metaphysical), and it fits this description. Love is basically the order of energy that defines love. I suppose that would make entropy in love manifesting from distrust or keeping secerets or being manipulative or there being a more lustful force outside of love, ect. it's fitting that today is valentines day :)

  • @erh3196
    @erh31965 ай бұрын

    im super into this right now so im glad i found your video. It made me really think about it to from a new perspective which helps me develop my own. Entropy is understood as chaos so I think of what the metaphysical side of chaos is and to me i interpret it as a void. The more chaotic it is in my head the more meaningless things become and the more confused I get, and if I (symbolically) jump into the void, somthing manifests in my physical self, in how i express myself, the energy i give (pos or neg), in my body as anxiety and in my brain as confusion, pain or paranoia. If I see chaos as physically manifesting as fear, anxiety, paranoia and panic that derives from our divine sense of self, and the heat death of the universe is somthing so meaningless it strikes fear in us, High entropy must be the manifestation of the divine's chaos. A black hole can be seen as a thing that traps all entropy which expands the universe until it expands so much it has a max entropy and everything somehow ceases to exist, a void is a black hole and the deeper you go into the void the more entropy youre expected to give the void traps so much evergy within it, like a black hole. Its chaotic and overwhelmingly confusing, like a black hole. In the same fashion the blackholes stretch out the universe, symbolic, metaphysical voids stretches out your sense of self with the extreme amounts of energy from the void, that energy often manifesting as psychotic, disassociate, depression, anxiety and delusions and your body and mind will eventually run out of sync if you keep going at that rate and autopilot will kick in (unconscious cognitive functions) and save you until your unconscious mind recuperates- amnesia being an extreme example of it trying to recuperate. And theoretically if you walk into a void you can pull yourself back out by grasping on to reality, I think the chakra system beautifully displays this because chakras can be blocked therefor giving you low entropy and there is such thing as too high of chakras too. With anything observable and physical it has a symbolic metaphysical counterpart. And due to each individuals perception of reality being complexly unique to another, the meaning of anothers perspective projects as of somthing unique giving the possibility to unique manifestations in the metaphysical to 1 specific thing observed in the physical reality, such as love, which you talk alot about here. I supposed for this all to be possible we need to discover how entropy appears in the metaphysical and thats what curious about because measuring entropy with symbolism (which doesn't exist in alchemy) would probably open a lot of doors to new discovery in the metaphysical. or maybe you just think im crazy wich i wouldnt blame you lol as for your
