Hi! My name is John Johnson, and you might have seen my other channel, 'Yacht Buoy'. Whereas my 'Yacht Buoy' channel showcases explorer, expedition and trawler yachts, this channel is for boats of ANY type and ANY size!
How do I contact you about a possible story? Re: A 1960's Navy Survey boat that sat on the deck of the Naval Ice Breaker, Glacier. The boat has been Rehabbed and is currently owned by a former crew member of the Glacier. He has had the boat for a long time and is now ready to sell the boat to the right person. I have a few photos if you might be interested in doing a video on her.

I disagree about that side he's saying is ready for painting, if you just want a work boat appearance then yeah, but if you want a shmicko looking paint job you'll need to do some faring along that hard edge in particular, it's real wonky and would stick out like dog nuts once painted

I'm pretty sure that he said they will be replacing the beefy rub rail that covers that area.

Done a couple of smaller boats myself. Admire the dedication and hours of hard work. Make sure we can see the end product. Perkins are good engines.

Not a big fan. Very quirky layout, the guest cabin is claustrophobic. The owner stateroom is in the bow where the motion is worst in rough weather. The cockpit is big but pretty uninviting for lounging in port. Oh well, I'm sure the owners like it because it is definitely designed and built to their specifications.

Love it! Any long range yacht still around after 60 years is beyond impressive. And with the refit it appears the owner intends for it to last another 60 as well. I like that people are still willing to make that investment rather than buy something new, says a lot about them. Keep those canoe sterns coming, great job taking us on these wonderful boats.

I appreciate the vertical bow's immediate lift when plowing through big waves and interior volume. Boats often have elongated bows to provide a false sense of LOA when it's LWL that is more relevant in boats this size. Great video review. I LOVE Steeler yachts. They are awesome.
