If someone is still looking for what book to read that had Carvie shippers ship them in the first place, it's called "Isle of the Lost" a prequel novel to the first film. There, it showed that Evie and Carlos was each other's first friends as they both were outcast beforw befriending each other. Evie actually bought Carlos his first pillow to sleep on and Carlos rescued Evie when Mal (who was a bully to Evie that time) pulled a "prank" on her. It was also hinted that Carlos and Evie had crushes on one another at the first book. Had they satyed in the Isle, they could have been more actually. Their crushes became a sibling relationship when they went to Auradon and that's the sad thing...
