    Guys, you’ve gotta stop asking for a new album. It’s not happening. I’d love it, but I’m not holding my breath anymore. He’s pretty adamant that he’s done doing traditional albums

    Nice round up, thanks. I first saw this film in 2000 and it became my favourite film ever since. Garden State is one of the worst films I have ever seen though, it's so painfully desperate, everything that Harold and Maude isn't.

    Impossible not to be profoundly affected by this movie. The concentration camp tattoo on Maude's arm was the most powerful image. While never discussed in the movie, it went a long way in explaining Maude's character insofar as her appreciation of life.

    love hearing your guys discussion about the show. I enjoyed it a lot. and despite the criticism that you can very obviously bring to the overarching story of all the star wars stories, I am thoroughly enjoying what they did here. especially as you mentioned as well, they tried or rather did (to stay in line with Master Yoda) something different here and it feels good to me. I am fine with people not liking it, or not enjoying it as much, but the extreme hate for the acolyte is by any metric just pure toxicity and has no merit what so ever imho. I also, ever since I got over the prequels way back when, am just so happy to get star wars things. and I appreciate when people try new things. I mean the two seasons of star wars visions is so cool and sooooo different. I think fans have no right to anything. why should we. there is nothing worse than death by committee. I mean look at the rise of skywalker. compared to the two prior ones, again imho, it was the weakest of the three and could have tried to keep in line with what rian johnson set up. I am rambling. always great listening to you two. loved the acolyte and hope for season two.

    I saw it as a depressed, undiagnosed autistic teenager and I felt like I finally found something I related to. That is rare. I hate that KZread bans talk about suicide or other words, basically taking power away from people who need help. It's tough to find things to relate to, and it sucks when neurotypicals ban things that could help people and make them know they aren't alone. Yet, people like The orange clown running are allowed to be shown everyday. Makes no sense.

    I am not a hulk fan per se but a huge fan of the tv series for exactly the reasons Kenny says! Bix was the key to its success he simply is Banner! The pilot movie to the series is absolutely brilliant and is by far the best hulk movie to date! Remember going to see it in the cinema! Maybe Kenny would do a remake of it without CGI

    H & M has been one of my all-time favorites since the 70s. I was a child the 1st time I saw it and loved it then! The a bought it on VHS as a teen and played it so much the tape started to wear. 😆 One of the best IMO! Also I had Clerks as well later on!

    Can't Hardly Wait was a decent movie but I think Dazed and Confused and Clueless really kicked the door open in the 90s. American Pie for sure did bring back that R rated Porky's or Revenge of the Nerds style R rated politically incorrect teen movie back. It's sad that these movies wouldn't be made today because I can laugh at characters doing awful things in movies because it's just a movie. The same liberals that are offended by these movies say nothing about John Wick killing 87 people in a movie. It's just a weird mindset that they have these days.

  • @GeekscapeTV
    @GeekscapeTV2 күн бұрын

    So I don't disagree with Dazed & Confused and Clueless but I think the issue when I was writing this was that they came out in 1993 and then there really wasn't a big teen flick again UNTIL 1998 with Can't Hardly Wait. After that we got a pretty strong 3 year run of 2-3 big teen flicks every summer. But you're absolutely right that I shouldn't have discounted them when writing this.

    such an underrated show, I recently rewatched it and I probably forgot most of it as I watched it on the original airing. But what I forgot the most were the sad moments and it made me tear up. It was a show that was funny, silly, but also had heart and great acting. Not many sitcoms or TV comedies can do that.

    I met him a few times when I was a young child and even then I could sense that there was something very wrong about the guy. He gave me the creeps, a very creepy guy. I remember thinking: "this guy is an absolute weirdo, he's not a man at all". He was also so waspish, sarcastic and tricky.

    My ratings for the american pie main films would be... 1. American pie. Simply because if it werent for this film, we never would have gotten the rest of this franchise. I remember id maybe seen the previews for it once or twice and that was it. I believe we ended up ordering it on ppv and i laughed like ive never laughed before that at a movie. 2. American Pie 2. This actually might be better than the first, but i put the original ahead because without the original there would be no 2. 3. American Reunion. I loved this one because when it came out i was out of high school for several years and seen my old school friends transition from party animal to successful careers, weddings, babies, and buying and/or building their first house. I really related to it when i watched it 4 or 5 years later. 4. American Wedding. It wasn't the greatest film, but its good for a laugh or 20. Thats what we look for when watching comedy films, so mission accomplished, i guess. All in all, this is the greatest franchise in movie history, in my honest opinion. Thanks for the stroll down memory lane, bud.

  • @Mickey-1994
    @Mickey-1994Ай бұрын

    My ranking is exactly the same, I think American Wedding does have the weakest jokes and most misfires overall but like you said, it's still a very watchable comedy. Not counting the direct to video movies, it's really impressive that a comedy franchise with 4 movies has two great movies, one good movie and one very watchable movie. Out of all the genres, sequels to comedies have the toughest time and like 90% of them are really bad.
