This is the best video on the Internet and i can't believe i am one of the few people that gets to see it and comment on it. I'm in a slump and as the silly doctor says "when you're in a slump, you're not in for much fun. Unslumping yourself is not easily done" This video is great because it's not "encouragement" or "motivation" or "you can do it if you try!". It's hard. Shit is really hard. And humans are somehow still doing it even though it sucks so much and we can all relate to that and it is extremely heartening. Thank you, thank you so much for this, and for turning all the"failures" into such incredible meaning and for giving us this gift today, and any day that anyone sees this. Thank you. 😭❤

Wow!!! thank you for this video. I love it. What a great message. I started watching you via the Pomplamoose videos. Then after a while I saw your about is video. That's when I find out you are the CEO of Patreon. Good for you. Thank you for being a great person who sticks to it to make the world better. I love your passion. This video works!

I love this video because we constantly hear about the success stories. But we almost never hear about the fact that the majority of the time their things that just don't work. I feel like this gives a much better portrayal of reality.

THANK YOU, Jack! Thank you for your time & efforts in making the presentation, the slides, the stories, the pictures. Thank you for your compassion and understanding of how this message, this experience of you, this grits, are relatable to other people and could give them a moral support. Thank you. Really, thank you. I don't know you personally, I live across the world with a 12 hrs time difference, and you may not read this blip of a youtube video comment. But if you read this, I want you to know that this speech, helps me. So, thank you, Jack. And thanks to Buffer Festival and team for uploading this on your YT.

A trash fire of a failure. That describes Your current effort with patreon. see my comment on Your launch video. You should put in some effective Patreon feedback channels and a few people devoted to solving problems that Patreon has with delivering it's services. The receipts for my Patreon membership came each month for two years, showing the videos I "could watch" but they were locked,... but You can watch them, if You become a Patreon member.... what gives???? several hundred inquiries later and 3-4 months still no go.

Here are the lyrics bc apparently I've nothing better to do than transcribe the words to obscure songs I like [Joey] I am a wreck, this is such a nightmare All of my writing’s uninspired When it comes time to show them my share I’m convinced that I’ll be fired I’m an impostor soon they’ll know Thirty years old and past my prime They’ll kick me out, wrap up the show I’m the worst writer of all time I’ll be found out and I’ll get the sack It’s what I deserve because I’m a hack No one has ever felt this way before (spoken) Hey, so you guys, ehh, doing good or having trouble? [Brian] I’m doing great! [Joey] Yeah, me too [Brian (sung)] What will I wear When they award me the Nobel Peace prize For writing the song That ended all war Thirty years old and impossibly wise No one has ever felt this way before (spoken) Looks like you’re cookin’ up something good over there Corey [Corey] Yeah yeah yeah, lots of options (sung) Mm-mm-mm McDonalds Ooh-ooh-ooh Taco Bell Oh boy, what will I order What will I order Order for lunch I bet that everyone is hungry I’ll pull up Seamless Beat this to the punch (spoken) Um, let’s just, like, take a break [Joey] Yes, great idea, or how about this: we just give up, right? [Brian] Or how about this: we just share what we’ve got, right now [Joey] No Brian, no… [Corey] No, no, I- [Brian] You ready guys, are you ready? [J,B&C repeat their verses at the same time, not including the last line] [Joey] No one has ever felt this way before [Brian] Honestly, I’ve felt that way before [Corey] I guess we’ve all felt these ways [All] Before And we know that you’ve all felt this way too Cause we’re digital creators like you We know that special feeling of- [Brian] Inspiration [Corey] And that special feeling of procrastination [Joey] That feeling of doubt as your video uploads And you watch the view count and you think it blows [Brian] Then you read a nice comment and you’re on cloud nine [Corey] You read another comment and question your whole life [All] That special feeling when you’re invited to Buffer And you’re asked to host and write and opening number And you put it off all summer And your rough drafts get rougher And you blame one another They should have asked the Gregory Brothers Then you realize you’re up stage And today’s the day And you discover That This was the song you’ve been working on Yes, this was the song all along You thought it was just an inner monologue Well ha ha ha, you thought wrong [At the same time] [Joey] This was the song you’ve been working on Yes, this was the song all along You thought it was just an inner monologue Well ha ha ha, you thought wrong [Brian] This is the song The song we wrote for Buffer Fest (?)
