Interessante und mutige Inszenierung, aber ich werde die Leber des Dirigenten mit einem Glas Chianti genießen, wegen seiner Mittelmäßigkeit, und seines grauslichen "Abschlachtens" der Ouvertüre. Er hätte gut daran getan, sich das Ganze vorher in Salzburg anzuhören! Auch das Orchester ist mittelmäßig. Wären sie doch besser beim Kohlebergbau und beim Stahlkochen geblieben. Gesanglich einwandfrei bis sehr gut, und letztlich rettet Erika Miklòsa die Aufführung. - Danke fürs Hochladen, und - LG aus OE

Rene Pape, ein super Sänger, aber kein echter Bass. Deshalb hier fehlbesetzt. Das scheint aber bei den Salzburger Festspielen Tradition zu sein. 2018 sang dort sogar der Bariton Matthias Goerne den Sarastro. Wieder absolut fehlbesetzt. Sind die Verantwortlichen für die Besetzung wirklich so unwissend? Oder ist das Absicht? Dann ist es ja fast schade, dass man die Celli nicht mit Geigen besetzen kann.😉

To me, Luciana's coloratura here is almost flawless, unlike her very famous performance at the Met. The notes, oh, so beautifully sung. So precise and elegant singing. BUT what about that HIGH F at the Met???? Oh God, so magical and GLORIOUS !!!! So I will definitely keep enjoying both renditions until the end of my days!

Even more than usual this would have benefited by leaving the camera in the best seat in the house and not moving it. So many charming stage scenes and so much action invisible because of cutting and close-ups. Even the most attractive singer does not look his or her best when in singing.
