Thanks for posting this, although it makes me sad to watch considering nothing's changed, and cops are probably even worse now, 16 years later. btw, does anyone have news commentaries from WLWT that Jerry Springer did about police issues from the late 80s/early 90s?

I was 11 when this was going on and I remember hearing Timothy Thomas everywhere for an entire month. This was when I first witnessed police brutality on the news living in the Nati.

I grew up in the suburbs or Cincinnati and was 11 when these riots broke. I was always scared they would come to Hebron where I lived or my dad's store in Clifton! HAHA

Nicely shot, edited, and written piece! I remember ducking for cover multiple times while shooting the riots...a brick came within an inch of my head at findlay market. The Ferguson situation seems very similar

Those instruments provide some heavy-duty power for good or ill, and aren't handed out indiscriminately. Nobody walks away with one of these without a thorough training in their use, and an exposure to their potential. Each person who carries realizes his/her responsibility, and that it is a privilege--not a right--to have one. A privilege born not of who your parents are, but who you are and want to be. That's right! I'm talking about violins, violas and cellos in the correct hands.
