  The temp limit on the GTX 1080 reduces the performance of the card quite a bit. Even below 1700MHz. The GTX 1000 generation ran stable above 1800+

  Hey just wondering, how do you position the text in Rivera like that? When I try to group them, I can't pick which layer they go. For example, my fps is in between cpu and gpu usage.

  hi, there is a grouping option in msi afterburner properties window, monitoring tab and next to "show in on-screen display" click 3 little dots. I will try to post a video tomorrow with my settings...

  1080 is still great at 1080p, 1440 is a bit much for it.... if you don't have a monitor capable of 1440p there is really no need to spend a BOAT LOAD of money to upgrade just yet....

  You are correct. I'm playing on a 1080FE with Intel hex core right now. 1080P 240HZ. 85Fps in most games but... I did order a 4070FE as I have been trying to find a vid card that would fit my case for 2 years. 3070FE no always gone so I just waited and the 4070FE was never in stock either till 2 days ago. If you have a quad or higher cpu the 1080GTX is fine at 1080P in all except maybe CyperPunk with all the goodies on. Red Dead plays at 60fps on a 1080.

  I think Nvidia is purposely downgrading their midrange cards to make them obsolete faster nowadays. They skimp out on VRAM and horsepower while simultaneously raising prices. I don't think they want another 1080-situation. Don't support corporate greed.

  It's a little less than 15%. This comparison is also gimped. A stock 1080 should have a boost clock, no lower that 1800 Mhz. My old EVGA 1080 Classified would boost to 2025 Mhz, out of the box.

  @@RaptorSpace That's still considerably low. Most cards will boost beyond 1800 at stock. Yes, on paper, that is the boost clock, in the worst conditions. Boost clock 2.0 adjusts for power and card temps.

  Почему Gpu clock у gtx 1080 только 1671 Mgz, когда в играх он может достигать 2100 Mgz, а то и больше? И тогда в большинстве игровых проектов карта выдаёт fps 60+ в full hd.

  I can play Fortnite on a GTX 1080/9900K @ 1440p with high settings, and easily hit my monitor's FPS cap of 75 with no drops. Why is this example less than 50 with the same resolution and more powerful CPU?

  Yes, It does look like when 4070ti is in, cpu uses 10-20% more power unfortunately. Mainly with dx12 and dx11, not so much with dx10 or dx9

  When the gpu is bottlenecking the cpu, obviously the power consumption will go down, because the cpu doesn't need to process and feed too many frames to the card. When your card is processing 3x times the fps, the cpu has to actualy work to deliver those frames. When is the opposite and the gpu is the bottleneck, the cpu has to sit and wait for the gpu to process the frames instead. In a gpu bottleneck, you'll see the gpu load go to 100% and try to boost as much as it can to fulfill its job, and thus will eat more power. So the 1080 being the bottleneck makes the cpu dosen't even need to boost as high.

  It does work OK, the only thing is that you need to manually assign each button within the game which could be a pain but you just need to do this once. I only have it for a week but I do love it! Good quality stuff and very precise!
