I like playing alone, not because of anxiety. It's just annoying to deal with people. As i hate people, lol 😅
To anyone who gets stressed about playing with others, don’t, you can wing it, you can fail, nobody minds so long as its obvious you’re not trolling, do hard content blind too, getting a party together who shares your vibe is easy with party finder
The reason I need to do solo is because I’m handicapped autistic and I have a lot of doctors appointments
Can you play this solo now to max level? I tried running "groups", but got tired of people rushing at the speed of light and pulling every single thing....
I tend to avoid raids due to not like playing with other people very much. Some 4 people to 8 people dungeons or trials I managed to get by.
Am I missing something? I'm pretty sure you can't do trials with NPCs, with the exception of the level 89 one. So that's a fair chunk of the game You still need to group for. But yeah it's great that you can do all the dungeons with the NPCs even so.
I saw you showed Fantasian on your guilty phone apps... rejoice as Yoshida, the guy who helped make FFXIV good, teamed up with the guys who made Fantasian(Hiroburu and Nobuo) to port the game to the PS4 and PS5, so now you can delete the mobile version! ^_^
"I wanted to experience the game, but I had to read up on the mechanics so I didn't cause the party to wipe." THIS IS SO TRUE. One of the few times where I didn't do this was the Tsukuyomi boss in Stormblood, and man... it was an experience to play that without reading up on it beforehand. I felt a bit scared, not knowing the mechanics, but once the boss music started playing, I felt so ecstatic. I felt as if I was in command of the army doing my best to keep everyone alive in the face of the unknown (played as a tank.) That experience alone is why Stormblood happens to be my favorite expansion, even if the reviews aren't too pretty about it. The dungeon music, boss, and raid music is amazing to me in that expansion. I'm currently on a new free trial account and going through the story again. I'm excited to experience Stormblood again and I can't wait to go experience Shadowbringers, Endwalker, and Dawntrail.
To me it’s not only the story and the huge immersive world of an MMO, but it’s the fact,, that other players are around you and filling the world and you have the option to interact with them, but I don’t like to be forced to! Like you said, I have my own schedule and I normally don’t wanna play the same game constantly, but jump in occasionally.

I wanna play the expansions as the game is on sale for the complete edition for £17:99 right now but I don’t wanna buy it and then pay a monthly subscription just to play a realm reborn and then the rest I can’t seem to find any info on wether I have to pay monthly just to do that or not though not bothered about the online part but seen tid bits of people playing as the dude and it looks awesome
Am I crazy. I love the combat and world. But I don’t love the quest or story 🙈 I got my paladin to 55 I think or 65 into heavensward. It was definitely cool. But still not loving the story. Am I missing something or doing something wrong?

i hate toxic big pulls besides i lagged since my internet is terrible so i prefer play with people i know and friends list so i do msq with npcs
the pure fact that being the person dying the most during a raid gives u the most commendations already speaks volumes to how encouraging and loving the community is ^_^
I am planning the same. Buy the Complete Edition and play the main quests of base game+DLCs. But for a game of such a size, actually have to make a feasibility study if it is even possible in reasonable time (max 500 hrs)😂 Your video helped a lot!

Alphinaud is such a fuck up it's impressive. If he were doing this shit maliciously he'd be an evil genius. That his fuck up was so impactful and unintentionally disasterous is awe inspiring.
Me just to finish A Realm Reborn in two months. But I don't focus only on MSQ.
My problem is not that I HAVE to play with other people. Its the damn wait time for Duties/Instances. I can at most play 1-2hrs a day and some times finding a party for your 1 story walled Inst, can take 40-60 mins. I cancelled my sub because this game became a waiting simulator. (main issue being I work overnight and playing or trying to play in the day-time when most people are not at Home, is a bad mix)

Just the info I needed to want to get back in. Joining this game what feels like a decade ago, queueing up has always been an issue of waiting and then not being able to sit still long enough to play the whole way through. Seeing solo play enabled is big!
imagine having 24 people staying in a corner and thinking "so when are they going to do it?"
Over the years I have thought of jumping back into this game. I started not too long after it came out back on ps3. I know it's crazy to play an mmo and want to just ride solo but I don't want to be a burden to others but the game looks to beautiful to not want to play it. In MMOs i usually main dps classes so i just have to worry about attacking but i kinda liked the Gladiator look and figured what the hell I'll main a tank class and I was doing fine for the most part on the dungeons. Shield Lob, Flash, Flash and was able to get by until Stone Vigil iirc. Got stomped right in the beginning. The other players were super pissed told me to leave. But to be fair I didn't mention it was my first run there and can't remember if I had my green sprout still. But come to find out to properly tank that dungeon I needed to level up thurmage I think? Or something compatible with Gladiator to promote to Paladin to get Shield and/or Sword Oath. I digress I'm just glad to hear you can do most solo now so I'm thinking I may try and get back into it on ps5 but I'll have to start a new account since I no longer have that old psn from ps3 days.

It would be nice if they gave the option to play on the on the other side . To experience the story from the darker side .
You should also try SWTOR. Its barely even an mmo, more like a SP rpg with some online elements

I have played all Final Fantasy games excep 11 and 14 because they were the online versions of the game. I suffer cosial anxiety and was put off playing with other players....A few months ago I watched this video and it was enough to finally take the plunge. I have just finished the Endwalker MSQ, loved every minute of it and thats thanks to your video. Thank you so much!!

I played started final fantasy 14 with the same mind set that I didn’t want to play with others and just focused on the story but now the best part of this game is playing with others ive haven’t had this much fun in a game in years 😊

It’s crazy how close our experiences were. I picked it up in April 2020, and had the same loves and setbacks. I play almost daily now with an active FC so lots of people who like to do duties together, high end stuff or old stuff they want to take others through etc it’s great. I tried wow for two years and it was a chore, I tried liking it.

As a counterpoint to all the praise given to the FFXIV community, on my first roulette ever I was badgered into quitting the group and taking the deserter debuff . The tank pulled wall to wall, and my sprout white mage couldn’t keep up with the healing. “Can you even heal?” I was asked. I had just healed a mythic+ 14 in WoW, but didn’t have the knack in FFXIV yet, despite plenty of normal duty dungeons and 8 mans. It shot my social anxiety through the roof. And I slunk back to WoW with my guild I’ve played with for 19 years. There are plenty of nice, helpful people in the game, but it still has its share of jerks.

Krile's name doesn't really follow Lalafell naming convention for an interesting reason: localization from the 90s. You see, Krile from 14 is a nod to the character in FF5 who had the same name, except the name in Japan was Kururu. When the 14 devs decided to bring in kururu as a character, they decided to make her a Lalafell, because 5's Kururu was a child and had a Lalafell sounding name. But during english localization, since she was a nod to FF5, they used the name that they had changed, and so Krile Mayer Baldesion has a distinctly non-lalafell sounding name in English

I got into the game a while back, got through HW and then quit for about maybe a year. Maybe more. Came back a little less than week ago and have played nonstop through all of shadow bringers. 100 hours in one week has been a grind but the story is worth it. (I’m not addicted you’re addicted)

very easy mmo with no end game, boring but captivating for a while untill you see the pathetic video of them crying for more subs.
Coming as someone that's been in FFXIV for now three years as of this post, I still hold the philosophy of "be nice to the sprouts, because they will 100% remember the jerks, and if those sprouts get into raiding, they'll either avoid you, grief you, or put you in your place so hard, you'll run back to WoW." I main healer, too, so if it's a sprout tank, it's even better, because then the sprout gets full control of the pace, and what we do. If the DPS both run off, provoke things, and get themselves killed, that's a "not me" problem afaic. I'm otherwise with you on exploring the dungeons more, though there **is** a "Explore Mode" in Duty Finder. Speaking of which, I should explore some dungeons tomorrow, revisit a lot of ARR-SHB content and dungeons.
People will gladly tell you the mechanics if you ask if you didn't understand them, you don't need to watch a guide for ANYTHING in ffxiv because it is the friendliest mmo community unlike WoW.
