Dropped mine too. i just changed the links and drive shaft to the ones for the defender and went to 1.9s. Slowly putting parts together for a monster truck as well. Wish there was a leaf spring kit to go full retro

I did this exact build but I did it with a redcat Wendigo, because the windigo is a rock racer it's super beefy it has a super thick chassis it has beefier four-link it has a brushless system it's just an all-around tuff truck that looks exactly like a crawler, but is built to go up and over rocks quickly and take some abuse, but I tried every wheel assortment there is and try to get the lightest clodbuster size wheel, and no matter which one I put on there it just seemed like it was so heavy on the truck, but I could put all four actual clodbuster Wheels which are some of the heaviest on a two-wheel drive stampede and it handles them like nothing, it feels very strong and not like it's putting a tremendous weight on it, what are your thoughts on the feeling of the wheels and stuff and spacers on the truck???🤔

I love these wheels and Tires, and they come with the wider offsets. But I still added a +10mm portal extension from "HOT RACING" so I have plenty of room to turn such a big wide Tire. The Tires come in two compounds, the blue is the soft, and the gold is the firm. The blue weight for one is 12.1oz and for all four it's 3lb 1.6oz I am also running a savox 500oz-in servo that helps greatly improve the steering with the 4" wide Tires. I was running the stock XL5HV with 17-39 gears, and I swapped it out for the Hobbywing quickrun fusion pro. Geared 22-39 and its stupid fast for what it is!!! The stock 550R motor was fine for the power and speed, but I was wanting crazy long runtimes. So that is why I swapped over to the Fusion.

At the end of the video, I say that I am going to give it to the TRX-4 Wheels and Tires. But they are authentic Redcat Wheels and Tires! I did swap out the front foams for a closed cell foam and I decided to add a few oz of lead in the front two Tires. Because the twister is around 63° in the center line, and the sport is kinda heavy. So a little extra lead out front... 6:30

And now the truck slows down within around three feet, and it still has 100% drag break!!! So I can scale trail run it, and rock crawl it all on the new settings. I do have to use throttle for descending hills now, and if I should happen to Squirrel and let off the trigger. I don't have to worry about it rolling away. 1 = 1 2 = 1 3 = 3 4 = 1 5 = 2 6 = 1 7 = 9 8 = 2 9 = 4 10 = 9 11 = 9 12 = 9 13 = 3

Then I take a hairdryer and heat up the truck overall and it always looks newer for the most part. Also I use WD-40 in the transmission and axles. Because I don't have any grease in any of the bearings. I also removed all of the inner bearing seals, and added 3mm set screws for the addition of the WD-40.

At cruising speeds I usually run in 14th, so the middle gear up front and high gear out back. I think its a little slower at the cruising speed, because you can't really tuck from the wind. Its like I'm pedaling around on a well broke-in lazy boy recliner 😈 So I can pedal it for days and not even feel any fatigue. Would be awesome if I could have a 700C version of it.

I pulled a 700X38C off one of my other bikes, and it bolts right up! But I would have to remove the rear bracket above the rear tire for the extra clearance needed. I think if I could buy the Samson version, I could pull off a 700c wheel set. Then I would think the overall cruising speed might come up a little bit, because of the weight savings. And less rolling resistance.
