I volunteered myself to not watch cat /dog, Rockos modern life, ren and stimpy, etc etc growing up. I knew they were gross. These were weirdos who made those shows. You really do need to let kids be kids and not sneak in stuff for adults man. I mean this without freaking out about it really.. just make a good kids show where you DON’T need to put in adult stuff so teens and parents can be entertained. Rely on the quality of your material for kids so you don’t need to double dip.. If you’re a good writer, you can do this.. but we all know the quality of writing now has dipped drastically. They don’t absolutely need to be exposed like that. It’ll come with time naturally. You are purposefully making the parents jobs harder than it needs to be by saying “well you should monitor what they watch”. Yes.. I agree.. but you trying to be sneaky just makes it harder to do. You make people not even want to have kids because you can’t contain yourself. They don’t want their job to be that level of difficult.. and it really shouldn’t be.. If you monitor properly now, 90% of your day will be pre checking the content they watch.. that’s way more time and effort than it should be. So why even bother having a kid?

Had a friend in Elementary School; her parents were fairly nice but VERY strict when it came to schooling and I just remember her breaking down in tears because she got a B on some subject for her report cards and crying "I'm going to get grounded for not getting an A in everything!" And that stuck with me for some reason. Maybe it was because, in the grand scheme of things, it seemed like such an idiotic reason to ground a child. School is important, yes, but if your kid(s) are reacting to marks like my friend did, you're doing something wrong and making that child develop a phobia around not being perfect.

"You're the parent. You're supposed to take care of me." How many parents carelessly made the decision to bring another life into this world, forgetting it's their responsibility to provide for them. Not only food and shelter and the clothes on their back, but emotional guidance and safety. How many parents have failed their children and wonder why we're so messed up as adults? They say love isn't enough to hold a marriage together, but people don't talk about how love isn't enough to keep a family together. You can be a good person and love your children, and still be a lousy parent.
