Utopia Early Music breathes life into the Salt Lake City music scene with its historically informed performances of medieval, renaissance, and baroque music. While the music itself may be centuries old and performing it well requires serious scholarship, all music exists in the here and now. To help this repertoire emerge from its chrysalis, we bring a playful, open-minded approach to everything we perform.

Thanks KZread, i'm at home with a bad cold two weeks after Easter 😊, never mind, it's such a beautiful music! I play in a medieval group, named Plâterspil, in Germany.
Poétique et apaisant . Ce qui nous manque aujourd'hui.
What a wonderful, inspirational concert. Thank you all very much. Emily, so delightful to hear your marvelous voice again.
Coreografia di Cesare Negri, con i cinque passi di gagliarda nella parte centrale
I love you guys so much! Thanks for recording your concerts and sharing.
Bravo!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Absolutely LOVELY!!!
I love these songs, but haven't heard of many of them before. How did you come across them?
Chris performed the arrangements by Jeffrey Jones-Ragona in Austin as part of the Celtic Christmas concerts once offered at St. Mary Cathedral. The others are from our own research or contributions by our fabulous musicians-Therese Honey put together the “Four Kings” and “Four Ships on the Ocean” sets, as well as other instrumental sets, and Bronwen Beecher shared fiddle tunes she learned in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
Bravo!!!! Is this a community group or college? You are all marvelous musicians!!! Bravo! Bravo!!!!
We’re a professional community group :)
Lovely! I play cello too!:)♥️
I hope by chatting and commenting it raises awareness of this great concert.
Lovely!!!!!
This is wonderful! Now if we could only get KBYU to play early music once in a while... Oh yeah, they've mostly abandoned vocal/ choral/ opera in general 😞
I really enjoyed this concert. I am excited for Celtic Christmas!
The acoustics were perfect. The concert was superb 👌🏿
Je voudrez savoir quand se situe la musique baroque à la renaissance ou plus tard
un siècle plus tard (à la louche). Louis XIV dansait sur des airs baroques.
Romeo y Julieta.Argentina
Then dude wearing the bloomers and the leprechaun hat is impressive .... points for wearing that shit!
Beautiful
Generally very nicely done, especially the wave-like flow in the ripresa and continenza segments, just as it's described in the sources. I wonder about the width and length of the steps taken: a slightly smaller step compass might have been a bit more elegant, less rollicking, in those same passages. But overall, continuity, tempo, and the balance of forward and sideways movementi worked well.
I want to dance! Wonderful ❣
What fun! Bravo all!
This music is heavenly !!!
Fabulous!
Love pavanes. They're usually followed with a galliard. But that was very nice. I so miss being able to dance.
BASSE DANCE
Why are you not ?
Superbly Lovely !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Superbe version!
Imperessive dance. I think the soli is much more beautiful then i danced it. but you have to perfenctionate the Ripresa minuta ;)

Wie heißt die Tanzgruppe? Gibt einen Internet Link?
Wie heißt die Tanzgruppe? Kann man im Internet weitere Angaben über sie finden? What is the name of the group of dancers? Are there any further Information in the Internet?
The tune is a "Basse Danse," or "Low Dance." "Low" means that the dance consists of gliding or walking steps as oppose to the leaps and hops of a dance such as the galliarde. The tune comes from "Orchesography," a 16th century book about social dancing. The author, Thoinot Arbeau, refers to the Basse Danse in the past tense, so it appears that it was going out of fashion by the time Arbeau wrote his book. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basse_danse www.medievaldanceonline.co.uk/the-basse-dance
@@royjones1039 🤗 Thank you verry much!

What's with the masks? They are of zero medical value, and are antisocial!
Incredibly beautiful. So sorry I missed in person - thanks for sharing.
So perfect and heavenly. I loved it!!! Thank you sooo much for bring us this beautiful and amazing work!! 😮😮😮😍😍😍😍
What kind of dance is it called? Just renaissance dance steps?
Sorry for the long-delayed reply! Rather than being a specific type of dance, “So ben mi ch’ha bon tempo” has its own special choreography in Cesare Negri’s _Le gratie d’amore_, where it’s labeled as a balletto (though that term refers to the poetic form rsrher than the dance). Here’s the original: hdl.handle.net/2027/uc1.c037023355?urlappend=%3Bseq=246%3Bownerid=113237363-250
I think it's called a "galliard."
