    Unlicensed contractors have ZERO legal rights if the contract is over $500-$600 in many states. We were recently scammed by someone claiming to be licensed. His crew tore off our entire roof and left it exposed during a severe rain storm that he knew was heading our way. We are currently at over $110k in loss and damages.

    I believe there is protocol in public contract code to where the GC can sue and go after a sub if they refuse to sign the contract and they’ve been listed on a public bid. The same way the fair subletting act protects the subs from GCs being able to remove them from a job if they’ve been listed, the act protects GCs from subs flaking after they’ve been listed. Now the reality is that GCs wont sue subs over a couple thousand or even a couple tens of thousands - it would cost more to sue - so yeah I agree the GC will be left holding the bag. Big GCs with subcontracts in the millions it’s definitely worth to sue. I’m a GC in northern Cal doing public works and I can attest I’ve been left holding the bag a couple times …smh lol. We absorb the hits to make sure the project doesn’t blow up and ruin our bonding and we just move as fast as possible to stop the bleeding and move onto the next one!

    Most of my money ive made was on the field. I got my C-10 license, havnt used it in a year, my old solar company hit me up and wants to use it. so thats 2k extra a month on top of my hourly wage. im getting into design work for contracts now on months that theres no jobs. When the jobs come, i go in the field to work. i make money both in the office and out on the field. 🤷‍♂️ finally im starting to feel that all those certs i strived for in the past are coming to light and worth it. 💰

    In the state of new Mexico you are not supposed to lend out your license or rent it out etc the primary holder of the license is responsible for everything that happens under this license

  • @ConstructionEntrepreneurs
    @ConstructionEntrepreneurs5 ай бұрын

    Yes. Let me give us a short example. If an multi million dollar company wants to do work in new Mexico based out of New York. Do you think the owner of this multi million dollar Construction company will sign up to take the test. I don't think so. The best and fastest way is to have an RMO/RME or pay someone to take it for them. What are your thoughts?
