Amsoil all day. Worth the extra 15-20 bucks for the absolute best oil you can get!
How do you know if you put too much grease in the drive shaft yoke? You had said no more than 4 pumps, but i think i forgot and pumped more. What problems could this create?
Doing too much can make the slip yoke not go in and out enough, which can cause damage. If you’re afraid you put too much in you can remove the grease fitting, compress the slip yoke and all the grease will come out. If you put only a little too much in it’s likely not a huge deal. It’s more a problem if you way overdid it.
Would lithium based NGLI 2 "Red and Tacky" be appropriate for all three zerk fittings on the proper shaft? The manual of course has two different types listed for the spider joint and the slide yoke, but ultimately says you can use lithium NGLI 2 grease on everything.
Amazing! God bless you all 🙏🙏🙏
I had a 74 bug too.
❤ my favorite things to do. But I haven’t done yet lol
Wonder how strong the cab is since it doesn’t have a roll cage at all if it were to get rolled
In the past 24 hours I've ended up on this channel twice for two very different things. This was due to me searching for American made oil change tools, and the other one came up as a suggestion after watching some 4Runner content. Small world!
Hilarious!!! Im just seeing this and ABSOLUTELY agree. I’ve had wheel studs broken on BRAND NEW Tacoma’s 😮 Anyway, is that an actual TRD skid plate w/ access points for filter and oil drain? If not, what brand? Thanks!
Yep!
Majority of DIY home mechanics don't need 12 Ton jack stands. Use that money to buy a better quality jack or power tools. I'd recommend checking out US General tool chests at Harbor Freight. Better build quality than what you find at Costco, lowes homedepot etc.
Nice! I think I need an escape too. -Chris🏔️🚙
Definitely in need
Wife and I have been thinking about doing a 'his and her's' duo rigs. She loves our Subaru Ascent which as you know is already built. I'm thinking of picking up an older 4runner and building it out for myself. So far we've only done adventures with the whole family. I've never gone solo (or solo with our dog). Lately I've been wanting to go out on solo trips when the kids aren't feeling up to it. Although my Wife wants to go adventuring just as much as I do. :)
Can’t recommend a 4Runner enough. 👍
Hell yeah! Live it up
Nothing wrong with that view and to top it off with a bump or two of Woodford Reserve makes for a good evening!
Nothing wrong with that view or a bump or two of Woodford Reserve!
Yeah buddy!!!
285(width of the tire)/75(height aspect ratio).........
Great Video! After my last oil change at the Stealerships I learned a $129.00 lesson. DYI! Thanks for the video!
Dude-the scenery is spectacular. The Woodford reserve is made 6 miles from my house. Feel free to come visit anytime.
🤩
Never heard a toilet being called sumptuous before 😁
Thanks
I might have missed it. When did these guys run these sections? July/August?
September.
@@JasonExplainsThings Thanks! Planning on a trip now for 3+4 either mid September or the alternative being mid October. Hoping mid September will work out, conditions looked good.
Give up these reviews you guys SUCK 💩 hold my beer
Hey Jason, thanks for making this video. Can you guesstimate the cost of getting all these tools first time, product and fluid for this service?
My blade has a weird-looking spline deal with another sleeve over the crankshaft for the pulley and the weird-looking star that holds the blade anyway I hit something I was hoping to see the same lawn mower but alas I'll watch you and see if there's a keyway in there but it doesn't look like yours is a self-propelled
critical thinking skills - replace one piece of tubing with another piece of tubing != cool air
So sassy.
4R cooler
My car dealership also had the oil filter housing installed back too tight. I don't have an impact driver, what should I do?
I have a 2006 2500hd GMC SIERRA with the LBZ and even though it is an old truck, I just love my truck 😂
Great insight
Some videos about the engine
i really enjoyed your videos that ive seen. thanks guys! i nailed down a date for the WABDR and im going soon... no one can (wants to) go with me this time, im doing the first half solo i guess. all my off-road pals are too old to sleep on the ground etc...i was the youngest one in our bunch and now i am about to step into geezerdom myself in a couple of years. to be fair, most of my off-road adventures have been rock crawling over the past two and a half decades. now i am wanting to camp and explore. i have a new vehicle for this purpose JT-DR (keeping my old jeep too) and i am very excited to meet like minded individuals who wanna do the same kind of stuff. i love the layed back, goofy friendship you guys have, im going to get there again!
I’ve had my 22 5th gen for almost a year now and this video has me sold on this kit immediately. Did you end up using a panhard bar correction kit? At what height for the rear will I need one? Love the content as always. God bless!
My local Subaru dealer skips recommended maintenance items and replaces them with other procedures too! Seems to be common
I think the car care nut would disagree. I never heard of changing out all these fluids at 30k
I think he’d disagree with your disagreement.
cheetos puffs are bomb. cool video, tx for sharing! i wanna do this trail now
Watch the full movie of the WABDR! The entire thing is covered.
Had a Toyota Camry following me through one section on my trip. They kept getting out and placing rocks in ruts and dips. Not all sections are crazy hard. Lol On the jungle section you better bring some tree pruners otherwise you will definitely go home with forest pinstripes.
Trail tattoos!
Jason, what a great video man. Just in time for my 30k mile service on my 4runner. I'm scared but I'm pretty confident that I'll be able to do everything myself. Thank you for the detailed video.
What a great family weekend!
The very first oil changes on my wife’s Lexus and my 4Runner after being purchased used from the dealership I needed to use a breaker bar to loosen the filter caps. Ridiculous.
You guys talk way too much Jesus Christ just get to the oil change
God Bless dude! Jesus died for your sins! 👍
To bad you can't get the air port for the bumper anymore.
I tried to call Mrcool and waited on the line for over an hours then I pressed * to hold my place in line and they never called. If you read their warranty for the GEN 4 you have to pay for their cleaning kit every 6 months or you have ZERO warranty. You guys that do the youtube thing get this crap for free.
I paid full price for it dude. If I get stuff for free I state that in the video. This wasn’t sponsored.
@@JasonExplainsThings have you tried to call them lately?
Nope
Could a stock 21 4Runner TRD do this trail?
For sure. Consider some true AT tires along with the ability to air down and up. Go with friends. Bring recovery gear. A 4Runner won’t have any trouble. You might find mud and snow early in the season that would require more capability (winch, skid plates, etc)
Thanks man!! Very easy with the video.
We were there. It was a really good time!
I put this exhaust on my 4runner last year because I could not stand the drone of the OEM TRD catback exhaust at highway speeds. The NDT absolutely got rid of that and the exhaust still sounds good.
