"A few years ago, there was talk of the discovery of Egyptian objects far away in the heart of the continent. A statuette of Osiris (Ausar), dating from the seventh century before our era, was found in Zaire (Democratic Republic of Congo) on the banks of the river Lualaba, near the confluence of the Kalmengongo; a statue inscribed with the cartouche of Thutmose III was found south of the Zambezi." -Hamid Zayed (General History Of Africa II)

From all the evidence in terms of the myrr and franchise, baboons and murials all point to region between Eriteria, Djibouti and northern Somalia, which makes sense, genetic evidence also points to it, E-M123 and subclades of E-V12 is native to the horn.

Dr. Danita Smith, thankyou for your wisdom. I am Agikuyu and a significant aspect of generational councils that governed in the land were the adornment of thumbi headdresses that were made with the finest of ostrich feathers. It was a mark of council authority and it reminds me of the feather of Ma'at and the principles embodied by the ostrich that inspired justice and wisdom. Listening to this video made me really appreciate the grounding of spirituality. I wanted to ask, are you familiar with the story of King Neferkare and General Sasenet? I stumbled on it a while back in the process of learning about King Shabaka Neferkare and Memphite Theology of which you've also spoken about extensively. I find it significant how this story of a King and a General might be one of the few positive or at least neutral presentation of same sex activity (as compared to the contendings of Horus and Seth, of course). I also find it cool how the amduat and the descent of Ra into the world of Auser with the conspicuous line "his majesty went into Sasenet's house and did to him what his majesty desired", if the translation is accurate, only adds to the whole story. It plays with several themes, I think, with one being the gray area of power imbalance. Its a fascinating tale to me and maybe you could talk about its historicity as well as the significance of Shabaka having taken on the name Neferkare knowing full well this was a King whose reign almost directly precedes the first intermediate period and the collapse of the two lands.

Good morning, I was introduced to the bible, in the beginning, from a worship point of view. As got older and fell a few times, then returned to "church", I returned to that "worship", way of allowing the pastor to read for me/us and not truly reading to understand. When I begun this study, I knew I was going to be alone. The bible is a collection of trials and triumphs that a matriarch rt patriarch begun and instructed their children, grand children etc. to continue throughout to show the difference between wisdom of spiritual guidance and flesh of man. The journey of a people in and out of relationship with their spiritual guide. The story of Adam and EVE naked ness does not represent being unclothed. It represents a people realizing what an other people or neighboring countries or civilization had and they had not. They were unsatisfied with where they were when they were taunted. It's like if you told you children to not converse with the people of a certain house because you are aware of how they attained their living. But one day a child from that house gets your child's attention and shows off a "new shiny something" making your child feel inferior now questioning his/her contentment. Your child comes home questioning why he or she isn't allowed whatever, whoever, whenever, however, etc. Revealing their nakedness in comparison to what another family has no aware of how that lifestyle was attained. You question your child and the truth comes out that they stopped at the "house".

You brought up so many wonderful points first when it comes to African literature we don’t see a lot . I was always taught that Africans didn’t have philosophy. So growing up I learned and read the Iliad ,odyssey, the art of war , Plato’s republic. ..It wasn’t until after college when I started to unlearn and reeducate my self to learn African philosophy. And what I really learned is a lot and I mean a lot of western culture ,philosophy comes from African philosophy but sadly never mentioned or talked about . Now that I truly have a better grasp of ancient Egyptian knowledge I see it every where and in many things from architecture , art , spirituality, movies , science medicine on and on . For centuries there have been many that don’t what the true info to get out . Thanks to wonderful persons such as your self the knowledge is starting to become available to those that are interested

During my visit to Egypt last year, our guide explained that the Merneptah's stela proves Isreal existed, but later said the words in Medw spelled "Israr".. and the name Isreal had not been "achieved" yet. So I asked how does his prove that it was Isreal? He cited "because all the Egyptologists came together to "make it so!"

Brothers, Sisters - Priority must be given to protecting ancient African historical artefacts! Have read where foreign archaeologists attempted to get near the Ark of the Covenant in Ethiopia! It appears that there are more non-African archaelogists and scientists exploring ancient African historical artefacts than Black African archaelogists and scientists! There is an obsession by non-Africans to explore Africa and write their own narrative about our history! Africans and the Diaspora must prioritize the ownership and control of the stories/narrative about our great African civilizations, our traditions, our culture, etc.! Note, there are ancient African historical artefacts that were destroyed or stolen and ancient African civilizations that were completely destroyed - written text on animal skins, utensils, etc. etc.!

  • @zaktaof4121

Definitely, the Ishango and Lebombo bones highlight that Black ancient civilizations indeed had a advanced concept of mathematics and used mathematics in everyday life! African children and the children of the Diaspora must be taught throughout independent Black-owned schools just how great their ancestors were! Critically important that the Ishango and Lebombo bone along with other African historical artefacts reside in African museums! But, many of the African historical artefacts have been confiscated and reside in non-African countries! Priority must be given to ensuring that African historical artefacts remain in Africa and that more Black archaelogists, geologists, scientists, etc. begin to explore ancient African civilizations and that African children and the children of the Diaspora be taught troughout independent Black-owned schools just how great their ancestors were! Further, there should be billboards throughout African countries and ongoing television and radio commercials highlighting just how great the ancestors were and the ancestor's contributions to mathematics, science, construction, etc. etc.!

These elements are manifested in the divine beings or energies, the orishas, which are different aspects of Olodumare, the supreme creator. The Yoruba of Nigeria are some of the people who were present in the Nile Valley, migrating there during the Green Sahara, 6,000 - 11,000 years ago. 🌍The orisha Eshu is like Shu a supporter of the creator Olodumare🌍

Excellent video Dr. Smith, I'm grateful. I'd like to second the comment of Mentuhotep II and the expedition to Chad. I've read an artile linked below that talks about how the expedition is massively impactful on the amduat. In particular I find this passage from the article interesting “Re gains access to the underworld through the ‘western portico (arry.t) of the horizon,’ a passageway of 1,260 km,” a pretty exact number for a mystical place. “If this number has any factual basis, it could be seen as the distance between the oasis of Dakhlah [the start of the trail] and the northern shore of Lake Bodele,” writes Schneider. I find it interesting because of the green sahara theory and that majority of Africans during the time lived around the Chad megalake. Was he amduat a memory of a past time?

I agree with you about the Merneptah Stele. The reference to Israel on the stele mentions the conquering of a place, and perhaps the people inhabiting that place, but with no other qualifying facts. The stele says nothing, and implies nothing, that the people inhabiting Israel are a repatriated group who had been held as slaves in Kemet. No evidence has been found to verify 'the Exodus.' Zero. But, it's a whopper of a story. And I appreciate you telling the whole story of the Merneptah Stele...where the evidence is literally written in stone..
