  Slaughtering the locals means killing and enslaving them and stealing their land. That was, like the VoC behaved in those countries they colonized. There are partly pretty gruesome illustrations and descriptions existing, when it comes to the details of that "business". Like I told you yesterday: The Netherlands have a very interesting history... 😎 Of course they were only one amongst many nations, who did that. And I don't mean only western nations. KZread is cramped full of VERY interesting history videos about the Netherlands and the rest of the world. Here on KZread you can find much history stuff about every nation to react to. :-)

  Interesting video and nice reaction. Thumbs up! :) I'm a German, but I find the history of the Netherlands very interesting. Not only the history of the Netherlands of this century or the last century but ALL of the centuries before. Including the colonial history of the Dutch.   Yes this cover is awesome but i recommend you to listen to Eriks first cover on the Chanel, the cover of Black Sabbaths Headless cross he was in the middle of his cancer treatment when he did it.   It's strange that no one has commented on it yet, in Poland we have 4 seasons and it shows, we care about nature and try to surround ourselves with beauty. 🏡🏡🌳🌳🌹🌹😎😎👍👍 I have been living in Poland for over 50 years since I was born and I can see the changes that have taken place, after World War II the country was completely destroyed and after the war Russia imposed communism on us and the country could not develop, only after 1989 we defeated communism and started to develop and now small towns in Poland look like. Developed countries have beautiful cities, even small ones, they don't have stray dogs on the streets and they don't have corruption that is destroying the country.   "Rota" was created by one of the best Polish poets ever, Maria Konopnicka, in 1909. Back then Poland didn't exist on the map and was reborn 9 years later after World War I, immidiately after being attacked by The Sovietr Union and defeating it against all odds in a battle that's being called in Poland "The Miracle Near Vistula River". Vistula being a River going through Warsaw, a capital of Poland which was being defended in that very battle. That very song arguably inspired the Silesian to raise against their oppressors just after Poland was reborn in an uprising to rejoin Poland. *THE ONLY SUCCESSFUL UPRISING IN ENTRIRE HISTORY OF POLAND!* Silesians have defeated their oppressors and have joined Poland soon after. So yeah, this song is not just words. Many consider it second best to our national anthem only. Some even claim "Rota" should be our national anthem. But imagine Germans playing our anthem during some sport event and hearing we will not let them spit in our faces nor germanize our childern... XD

  Oh I really like your reaction. "Aleja Gwiazd" is the title of the song meaning "Avenue of Stars". This beautiful artist has a very difficult Polish name, Zdzisława Sośnicka, and she still performs.

  The video comes with an English translation of the words. The recording itself did not take place live. 732 musicians recorded their parts over 6 days, which were then edited together. The effect is breathtaking, especially when you also refer to the lyrics of the song, the time when the video was released (the period of COVID-19 and widespread lockdown), and the time in which the original song was created (1980s in communist Poland). .
