I hope the truth comes out about how LFC treated this exceptional man. Including why he was dragged out of Melwood after he retired going along to watch a session, 'duffed up' and put in a taxi! Forget Klopp Bill Shankly is the stand alone Liverpool manager who dragged them out of the gutter and building what we see today!

Brilliant interview. What year was this done out of interest? Walter Winterbottom is talked of by Bobby as if he were still alive, and he died in 2002. So obviously before then.

In 1968 i was 11yrs old when I saw my 1st football match. My Dad was in the United States Air Force and we were stationed at RAF Upper Heyford, England. That match was Manchester United. And my favorite players were George Best, Bobby Charlton and Dennis Law. I'm 67yrs old now, and still their matches here in Texas !

"I want to die a healthy man" unfortunately he did, but definitely one of a kind, you do not get many Bill Shankly's to the pound, true legend and a great man. Absolutely love his take on fighting at the football, men like to have a fight, what a man, love him.

What a perfect surname for one of the greatest players of all time. The Holy Trinity of Bobby Charlton, Denis Law and George Best of the early 1960s to early 1970s were just magnificent. The Portuguese and Spaniards called him “El Beatle” due to his boyish looks and lothario attitude.

Alex Ferguson was the flip side of the coin to Matt Busby. Man Utd’s two legendary managers, both Scotsman from tough working class backgrounds and the same values but big differences. Busby was a Catholic Ferguson was a Protestant Busby as manager was a soft, quietly spoken man on the surface to his players, gracious in defeat, but hid a hard interior underneath, especially when it came to players wages. Ferguson was very angry on the surface, a terrible loser, strict disciplinarian, volcanic towards his players, but outside of football he was a very sweet man with a great sense of humour, cultured, a bookworm and studious.
